I have had Opti Coat 2.0 on my two SUV's and the don't seem to shine and repel dirt/water/bugs like they used to. Applied it one year ago. Live in the brutal sun in AZ. Time to recoat?

^^^ Agreed. When it seems OC is no longer there , it is usually due to the car needing a deep cleaning to remove what has bonded to the coating. Remember the only way OC is removed from the surface is to be abraded off.

If I were you I would try a citrus or dawn wash first, then clay. See if beading improves. If the OC is truly "not there" either it was installed improperly or something has been done to abrade it off the surface.

Check for bonded contaminants. I tell my clients they may need to go over the car with IronX and Tarminator annually.

i agree the Oc is probably still tehre...it just needs a good cleaning.

here is what i would try in case you have them in your arsenal...

Dawn

P21S TAW

Iron x

Iron X snow foam

OPT Poli Seal

Clay

Dawn wash will do the trick.

I stripped mine off and used 22PLE... I will have to wait for a while to see if I get that same effect you are speaking of that I also got with OC.

Chemical Paint Cleaner -OPT recommends Poli-Seal for "refreshing" Opti-Coat; it contains chemical paint cleaners and very mild abrasives.
