Time to experiment! New products testing...Klasse Twins and later, UPP

BTW, I used Klasse AIO and Platinum's UPP on a black LX 470 and a 50th Anniversary Corvette on Thursday. Pics when I finish the roll of film....but I can tell you that the lady with the LX 470 kept running her hands over her paint and commenting on the slickness.

Can't wait to the pictures.

As to the 1z Glass cleaner, maybe it is just with the odor, but I do like the cleaning abilty.

First switching to a PC ... Now using polymers ...

Is that really you Scottwax?

Don't have the PC yet. ;)

I've been playing around with different products since I found this board. I was using Car Polish's Final Polish early this past year. Real nice one step polymer that really comes alive when topped with S100. Winner's Choice makes a real nice polymer also. Poorboy's is a breeze to use and the Klasse/UPP is a super glossy and slick combo. I still think VM/CMW is the wettest looking combination I have though and the ease of use is amazing.

I'm probably going to continue using VM/CMW on my regular's cars since both they and I like the look and they have their cars waxed often enough that a polymer really isn't necessary.

For my sealant option, I'm torn between Poorboy's (PwC's look is very similar to AIO) and Klasse/SG or UPP. Ease of use or a little more durability?

In your opinion what is the difference between AIO and PwC? Beside one has a polymer and one has caranuba.

None that I can see as far as appearance, slickness and ease of use. The only thing I am wondering about is if SG or UPP will properly bond to PwC.

Both AIO and PwC are excellent light paint cleaners.

When it starts getting warmer out you may have no choice but to go with poorboys as Klasse is h**l to get off in even the slightest bit of sun.

Scottwax,

Have any of the new products arose your curiosity in trying a 3 step combo with VM/CMW? e.g. AIO + VM + CMW or PwC + VM + CMW?

Or, is that too redundant?

Scottwax,

Where can you get quikshine locally for $9?? is it just a local distributor?? My current combo is AIO/SG/S100 and to me i can't put my finger on it but i think there's something missing. Thanks to sonnydaze1 i got some einszett paint polish and glanz wax to try. anyone have pics of einszett in action?

I've done VM, PwC and both CMW or EX. VM has very light abrasives and PwC has none (chemically cleans the paint) and both have a similar look. Probably best to just use one or the other because I really didn't notice much difference using both vs just one.

I get all my Clearkote products at a local speed shop that carries the full line.

Have you tried Meguiars Swirl Free Polish #82? It really adds a lot of 'pop' to the paint. Also, I used Meguiars NXT over SG that was applied 5-6 weeks ago and it made a noticable improvement in depth without reducing SG's reflections.

Scott,

Thanks for the info on NXT over SG. Have you tried UPP over SG? If so, how does NXT compare?

What have you top SG and UPP with? What is your opinion on the look?

Eric-I've never topped UPP or SG with a carnauba wax, so nothing to report there. I did use NXT over UPP x 3 on my own car and it deepened the appearance somewhat with the same level of gloss and wetness. Slickness is similar also.

I haven't tried UPP over SG either. I just have been so busy that I can't experiment...and the early sunsets don't help matters much. :(
