Those cheap Costco 24 pk Microfibers...

...Dreaming on an E92....
My dad decided to pick a couple packs up for me when he was at Costco a few days ago, kind of a suprise I guess. I can't remember the last time I had some of these, but they don't seem too bad...Or maybe they're a bit higher quality now than before? They don't seem too bad, I've been using them on windows and QD'ing a freshly cleaned vehicle and they're not bad, no streaks or micro-marring. I do remember them losing their quality after the first couple washes though, I wonder if these do the same.

Does anyone else use these on a regular basis though? Are they holding up O.K in the wash process? I've been using them for basic things other than windows/qd'ing and they seem like a cheap ticket to success...

i been buying just about all my mf from costco. iv had all mine for about a year or so. they have all held up really well. i just wash them with the pinnacle rejuvanator and air dry them. havent had any problems with them.

Thats what the bulk of my MF's consist of. They seem to hold up well. After awhile they do deteriorate. At that point they become my "windows & jams" MF's.

Interesting that several have been so well satisfied with those towels.
Since I have been using the Poorboy's Mega Plush and the Prestige Polishing Cloth from the Detail City Store, I'm so spoiled that most of my other MFs don't even get used anymore. The ones that aren't being used are high quality towels, too. Pak Shak, Cobras, not the el cheapos.
Try a couple of the really nice towels and you will be impressed.

I think that the Costco MF are OK but I do think that they will wear out faster than higher quality ones. That's my take on them

Still for some jobs they are great

I can't speak for the specific towels you mention, but I have purchased what may be a similar product from Sam's Club a couple of years ago. The origin of the towel is China, mine are yellow, though I believe the current stock is blue. My experience has been that these towels have held up just fine. They have proven to be paint safe. They appear to be at least very similar in construction and quality to toweling purchased from another "known" mf vendor. This is not to say that these towels are in the same league as the higher end towels mentioned above and which I have purchased from DC, PB and other mf vendors. They are also not in the same pricing structure. I'm also not going to use those "high end" towels for all of the chores which are involved in detailing.

That, I can certainly relate to.
My grunge jobs are where I use up my old stock of terry towels. I usually just cut them into smaller sections, (1/2 or 1/4), use them for the grunge work and throw them away.
I even have a tough time using a good MF for S&W. (I do, though)
Sometimes we have things that seem almost too good to use on a dirty surface.

I use the ones from SAMS Club, which I think are about the same. Been holding up fine. I bought a few packs from wal mart about 6 months ago, and I think I have 5 or 6 left. The rest were put in the trash. They were small, thin, and wore out EXTREMELY fast. The ones from Sams, have not let me down yet. I use them for everything but paint.

I use the Sams/Costco MFs for glass cleaning. They are my designated glass towels so they won't streak the glass and for the price it's hard to beat. I too am spoiled with superior MF towels so they don't get used on the paint either.

I use my yellow SAMS club towels for jams and interior dirty work. The blue Walmart and Sams for water spot removal. And save the towels from Steve for QD, Windows, And where I go over after wax or paint sealant. Just got to keep the wife from using those silk tied from Steve on tires and door jams (they always seem to be on the top of the pile in the storage c9ontainer. How much is the MF rejuvenator, this comp is really slow now?? And the best place to get it. RANDAL

I use my Costco ones for jambs, wheel and interior work. I've got a ton of them. I still reserve my better towels for paint works but also use these on bumpers, lower rocker panels and to apply exterior trim gel. Like Mr. Clean, I find them to be paint safe and bought my father 2 packs for his BMW's.

They have held up fine. The color has faded on many and they don't feel as plush, but they are super soft and perfectly acceptable as a weapon in one's MF arsenal.

I find that vinegar in my rinse water coupled with an extra rinse really helps to keep them soft.

For those of you who have no Costco / Sams, you can keep an eye out on eBay and find them cheap, some with free shipping.

Or you can buy them in the same packs as we get from:

Eurow O'Reilly Corp

This is the same vendor who carries the sheepskin we enjoy and buy from WalMart and other places.

I'm going to do my first load of them tonight, I've never let my MF's air dry though, I'll have to try that this time around. I have a habit of grabbing any particular towel for the task I'm doing and sometimes they get pretty dirty, I imagine that can't help the deterioration of the towels. The ones I've been using from P&S seem like they've gone down in quality ever so slightly, and I've noticed that they sometimes make the tiniest surface scratches, and NOTHING will be on the towel...:hmmm:

I just ordered some Elite Ultra Plush MF's for stictly wax removal, QD'ing, finish work, things of that sort. I guess if I'm more careful with my towels they'll all hold up better ;)
