If anyone is interested in any Rupes stuff, I'm all ears.

It's tough to know what to order, as Rupes makes SO many fantastic tools.

Any news on the machine that they had at SEMA ? It appeared in the post by Barry those were air tools. If my memory is correct wasn't the SEMA machine electric ? Do you have any of their offerings listed yet ?
 
You know, I was just wondering the other day what happened with the whole Rupes polisher deal the other day.... hadn't heard it mentioned in a while.

I was actually just looking at this before I saw this post. That video of the 3M kit is the old kit I think. The new one is a battery powered denibber, unless they have multiple options. I think Id rather go with the pneumatic DA though.

nice looking polisher, but has me thinking about current polishers and some different designs. maybe take an existing DA and machine a hub with a larger offset to achieve the same result?

i know there are other things to consider! *power of the motor, axle strength, housing strength, ext.*



just a thought.

maybe the next generation will come with a removeable head that can be connected to polisher, DA or forced rotation unit.

- square connection at the head with 4 lock points to secure the unit.

- brushless motor design borrowed from remote control cars

- housing has option to upgrade motor without need of buying a new unit.

I've been looking really hard at the Ceros 5/16" palm sander, Are you still going to carry the Mirka Brand stuff? That Rupes kit does look like a really nice kit to have and would go really nice with this new toy I just recently acquired...

Barry Theal- Oh, you....more polishers I can't live without :o After you went on about pneumatics being so swell I got a little 3" one and yeah, I love it. Now there's this Rupes stuff!



I especially like that little one they used for the 3K.



Man, they sure let the polisher just *sit there* for the second step, 20 seconds worth with no issues.



Of course we're all assuming it left things Autopian-perfect :think:
 
I've got a dynabrade pneumatic 75mm polisher with 14mm orbit throw, similar speed

great little tools indeed, my little electric metabo sxe400 aint bad either, especially with microfibre pads

Dave, I stock the Mirka CEROS in 5" and 6" versions. The 5" features a 3/16" stroke (I hear that a 3/32" machine available in Europe, and will hopefully be available here soon). The 6" machine is available in 3/16" and 5/16" versions. I keep one of each on hand.



All three machines sell for $495. I put together an "info station" of sorts on the Buff Daddy site:here.



You asked about using HD Uno in this thread, so I decided to combine the two, and used my 3/16" diameter stroke CEROS to work the panel over. WOW-WEE, does this machine have some SPEED.

If you have a screw compressor it is way better than it looks . Along with LHR 150N they are the best pneumatic polishers out there .

Why one year warranty ? Every rupes i own , both electric and pneumatic ,comes with three year worldwide warranty . Also , the 500 watt models are way better . More power and less heat . Watts are not that important to the maker of the most powerful and reliable .geared driven sheet sander the sspf with just 350 watt. Another thing i love about rupes is the inexpensive service and parts ,at least in Greece
