This is the Thread (shout box) that never ends

:) You guys want a shout box? Post away! Pretend like this is the shout box and post your random comments. As long as nobody starts flaming people or gets vulgar then I don't see any reason why it won't be the longest thread on DC shortly. :)

what type of things can a shoutbox be used for>?
Shouting! :D
Actually, just about anything. The old one was often just a weather report, then it might be birthday announcements.

How long you will be away from the board. (So people don't worry that something is wrong if you don't post for an extended period.)

Announcing a trip to a certain area of the country. (Someone might want to try to meet up with you from that area.)

Inviting someone to the chat room.

Letting someone know they have a PM or that their PM box is full.

Looking for a particular product or person.

Any of the things you might want to get on the board where lots of people will see them.

I HATE ACRONYMS! i feel dumb when it takes me a while to get it.
The fact that not everyone uses the same acronym for the same product can sometimes be confusing, too.

SHOUT!!

I'm not having lunch today. I ate a late breakfast. Also, they have a "decoder ring" page on Autopia that I find very useful for the acronyms. It would be nice if DC had a page like that as well. We could start a thread for acronyms, but it would take forever to find one acronym in a huge thread. Also, yes LSP stands for last step product.

See you do know acronyms!! I am not sure why I felt the need to be such smart alec. but i believe that you took it in the spirit that it was meant!! :naughty

Good afternoon DC! And if I don't see you till tomorrow night then good evening, good morning, good afternoon and good day too. ;) (stolen from a movie, of course, but still funny)

Man... so this is what people with jobs have to do all day? Sheesh... I miss being able to sit at my desk and watch DC for 8 hours. lol I've got a training class that is keeping me in a room talking all week and I don't get to check DC every 5 minutes. :( It's nice to see the shout box thread is working though. :)

that just means we're more efficient with our time.

:)

this thing is better than the chatroom in my opinion...whoops. off topic.

now what acronym is your name cwcad

Ok, here it is. Remember you asked.

counter weight cadillac....COUNTER WEIGHT got shortened over the years to CW. In my younger days of construction work I was often asked to stand at the back of equipment to counter balance the load that we were trying to move.

My friends call me CW and the cadillac was a car I owned years ago that I liked very much. It had a personalized plate of "CWCAD". With the purchase of the black truck i had it personalized to "CWCHEVY". Just stayed with cwcad as a signature because i became comfortable with it.
