This Black Wow any good

Yes. However, if the car is new, why do they need to be clayed? What is the problem?

Hey fellow Autopians, is it my imagination... or is clay being over prescribed?

Claying is needed on new cars in most cases to get rid of the ever present rail dust and other metal particles before they start to rust and imbed into the clearcoat/paint.

Also, during the life of the car, it gets other particles stuck to the finish, like brake dust.

To read about rail dust, just go to just about any clay maker website.

This Black Wow any good.

Been using AG trim gel and it does do the job on my Mini plastic arches but it fades after a few washes. My Mini has a lot of trim and I?m after something that will look great and lasts.

Only down side I could see was if you got it on your paint by mistake as it?s a paint to remove.

Anyone using this stuff as its dear. Here in the UK at ?19 a bottle.

yes its a nice product. ive seen a couple weeks protection and shine. i have a new bottle and havent used black wow in a while hopefully soon .my mirrors need a nice coat.. oh and it smells awesome too!!!!! water melon

BW does do a great job of bringing back the color of lightly faded trim pieces but its just a pain to use because its extremely greasy. If you get it on paint or glass it takes some time to get it off. I personally prefer a water based dressing, sure it wont last as long but its far more user friendly and wipes from paint or glass without issues.

I hear the new version of Adams TRV dressing is more durable and wont fade in rain, will be getting some soon... its a water based product as well

If its silicone based it will attrack dust like crazy. You won't be able to see the shine for all the dust. On top of that, when it rains it will make quite a mess of your paint :out:

ALWAYS go with a water based dressing on trim :wizard:

water based dressing...

Any suggestions then? I have CC New trim Gel and only now use it on the Tyres as it just runs no matter how I use it and I do use it right with very small amount spread and go over it with an old towel. looks great till it rains. :(
