Thinking about being a vendor for dealerships..

They want VOLUME and SPEED unless they tell you otherwise. Something that you see that may drive you crazy, the used car manager will not see and think you did a great job.

VOLUME + SPEED = SMALL CASH as a big dealership. There are no other equations.

That's a pessimistic way of thinking and that equation(which is totally wrong) should really read: VOLUME = LOTS OF CASH. End of story.

You could also look for a hi-end used car dealer (Porsche, Audi, BMW, etc) and see if that is more suitable to your skills. That's what I did and not only does the dealer appreciate the work, the level of detail is what helps give that dealer the "edge". In the 5 short months I've been detailing BMW's, I would estimate 75% of the prospective buyers comment on the high level of detail at my shop.

It's a nice feeling, the pay can be 2-3 times what a volume dealer is going to give you, and the pace isn't as demanding.

Be aware, the luxury dealer is going to want lots of examples and references.
