Just One More Coat
This is a 1965 Mercury Marauder that has been sitting out in the weather for the last 10 plus years, and prior to that has always been an outside car. Long story is one of my best upcoming customers who has 12 cars wanted to get this one back on the road. The under carriage and motor has all been worked over so mechanically its sound. The body with the exception of a few place is in real good shape. He wanted to have a cheap paint job dome on and in looking at the single stage paint, I told him that I could bring that original paint back up to speed and then he could have the body work done so that the painter would get a better match.
Anywho it took me 6 hours on the out side only which all I did on this trip.
I used a clay bar to lift the crude,
Wool cutting pad with a rotary buffer with heavy cutting compound
Foam compounding pad on the rotary with polish twice over the hood and truck.
Glazed with a orbital with a finishing pad
Waxed with the orbital with a finishing pad
Wish I had better pics of the car, think I will ask if I can come over and take more. It looks like a charm again he was over the top impressed, so was my back the next AM....LOL
