There are so many of those new technology wipe on and walk away sealants on the market today I cant keep up. I have use opti seal on several cars and other than the lazy beeding I have always liked it. But this week I took a tour of all the new stuff on auto geek.net and I had no idea there were so many out there now.

I dont want to search for reviews on each one because there are just too many. I am hoping some of you users and post your thoughts or comparisons on some of them here so everyone can have a thread covering several different products.

Thanks in advance for you input

You will get as many different responses here as you will find reviews at any detailing site. If you are looking for a definitive answer you won't find it here or anywhere else. The reason is that everyone has their favorites based on the type of paint they have, the color of car, the particular look they prefer (gloss vs depth and richness for example), price and value factors (keep in mind the recommendations you receive will change if price is no object), ease of use (are you lazy or willing to work at it), suggestions given by pro detailers may differ from those of a hobbyist, etc., etc.

You mention the WOWA sealants and I don't generally like to use them because I do this as a hobby and I love rubbing on my paint. They are too simple to give me the satisfaction I seek in detailing. I want to buff and see the fruits of my labor shine through and these things take all the fun out of detailing. I can get just as good and better looks and durability with conventional products. If I were a pro where time is money I probably would think differently. I also look for a good bang for the buck and don't mind working a bit if need be to achieve it. That is why I like Duragloss sealants along with their bonding agent. That is my go to brand for sealants (although they are not WOWA), and like to top them with Collinite 845. This gives me the look I want for my white diamond paint. Duragloss products look good, they are fairly easy to apply, durable and is priced right. Not exactly what you were looking for but those are my thoughts.

If your Opti-Seal is more than a year old you have the original version. New version is a noticeable improvement in looks, gets slick much more quickly, several months durability. I have a lot of products at my disposal and almost always reach for Opti-Seal when doing a conventional detail.

But like Thomas said, if you're willing to spend more and take your time with the application process, Opti-Coat is amazing.

Thanks for the replies and like some of you I am a hobby detailer on my own stuff only and yes I do enjoy polishing, etc. I dont mind some work but dont want to return to the days of old school paste wax that just about kills me as I near 50 years old now. When I was 20 yes but not anymore.

Ill keep reading your opinions and I may give the duragloss another look. I have used the total polish only so far.

Duragloss make some great products.

I hear ya about being 50 y/o and it starts to take a lot of effort compared to using something like OCW and OPTI seal. Opti sean is a great product and topped with OCW is amazing on my silver cars . I have yet to try opti coat but maybe I will for winter or else I'll just maintain with OS and OCW. Its just so easy to get good results and decent durability . I'm about to tap in to my VER#2 of OS so I'll check out the difference between the 2.

Kind of amazing every post in this thread was made by members who have been here for at least 7 years. (I have no explanation for why I noticed that!)
