this car was detailed about 2 weeks ago at a ""high end" detailing shop. $220 for a full detail. I htink this car is an '86. repaint.

This is after ONR:

This was the worst type of paint I have ever worked on. Hated it. Some scretches stayed no matter what I did. The paint marred very easyly, regardless of how gentle I tried wiping off the polish. :soscared: :soscared:

I did go back and remove more clear around the door handle but not all of it.

Ya know, If I could get away with charging $220 for that kinda work, my profit margin would increase massivley.

Great job, what is the lsp?

Those first after pics from the "high end" detailer looked good to me. HAHAHAHA jk. Did a very nice recovery on that. Those after pics of your work are amazing.

Wow to the before pics even after the so called"High End Detailer"but then again they didnt charge enough imo......its shows not only stealerships can do this but anyone can have a title.....hopefully you had fun and didnt undercharge

Awsome turn around again it looks Wayyyyyyyyyyyy better then before...what was your steps on polishing, product, pad...how long in the polishing dept(time)

That came from a "high end" detailing shop? Oh man... Great work on the restoration though! Should mail in those pictures to that shop. The first garage shot is money!

I'm actually curious as to how the work at the detailing shops down here are... though I just can't brng myself to send in my car to have it potentially messed up

Porsche looks black again Thomas! :bigups

PM what shop that was I just had a black Audi that was butchered by a shop around here as well.

thank you very much for the kind words everyone.

Scottwax - yes he paid $220.00 for a full detail (both interior & exterior)

BTW, he was told by the shop - he called after getting home and noticed that the swirls/scretches were not removed & now there were also holograms, that there was nothing that can be done about the imperfections... Get this!

Because the imperfections were in the clearcoat!!!!! :doh :doh :doh :funny post but true. Do you believe that?????

Djmigs - softest paint I have ever worked on. Started on it saturday night from 10pm to 1:30am. Continued sunday morning at 8:30 and didn't finish until 6pm or so.

After too many trials, what worked was: ec/ohc on LC 7.5 yellow pad to remove those nasty swirls. However, that itself created tons of new swirls. The only thing that removed them and had the paint ready for protection was OP and the original Propel orange pad on the PC. After being frastrated is when I tried this combo on sunday. I did 3 to 4 passes with the cutting pad. It took too long but this jobs makes me appreciate the other details for sure. :D
