The worst water-spots I've ever seen!

Well I made a huge mistake on Saturday.

I took my BLACK car out and got caught in a little rain. (that's not the mistake)

I decided to give it a quick hose rinse before putting it away in the garage (that's not the mistake)

Then, in all my incredible wisdom, I decided to DRY IT A LITTLE LATER. You know, I was going to do it after I got a snack.

Well I forgot about it.

In the morning the white crusty water spots were so bad that NOTHING would take them off.

Z6, Z2, Z7 car wash...all to no avail. SPOTS STILL THERE! (and VERY NOTICIBLE!)

I finally had to CLAY to get the water spots off.....

Valuable lesson learned:

There's a price to pay for short-cuts!

Oh yea?! I detailed my parents 92 black Saab 9000. It was in awful shape. After wash, vinegar, wash, clay, wash, DACP, #9, Mothers glaze and 3M paste wax (7 hours on the paint alone!) - I finally handed off to my old man. Jaw on the floor in amazement, he passed me a $100 bill (I took it :D Yes, after this ordeal, you're darn right I took money from my dad!)

Well, one week later with the car covered in pollen and caked on bird poo, my dad simply rinses off with a hose (not wash) and does not dry leaving the car to bake in the driveway

PS - you think you had water spots? I told him he's up sh*t's creek without a paddle!

i had really harsh water spots that wouldn't even clay off. i ended up using 3m p.i. and my pc to buff them off. crazy. and i had klasse on there too.

The worst ones I have encountered were on my Dad's Vette after he got back from Las Vegas one weekend last summer. Hard water+110 degree Vegas heat+drive back to LA=lots of work for me. Clay wouldn't touch them. It took me three passes with the PC and PI-III to get them all.
