The power of MIRKA jewelling

Instead of the usual Menz PO85RD and 3M ultrafina that most us use mostly for final jewelling, I am now testing equivalents for Mirka for the past 9months.

They have a few different types of polishes (similar to Menzerna), and I tried their finest UF3.

Vehicles:

Black Nissan GTR35

Black BMW 3series

Black Toyota MPV

Red VW

White BMW

Prep: Extensively compounded.

Products used for jewelling (Rotary+Black foam pad)1. PO85RD

2. 3M Ultrafina

3. Mirka UF3

This GTR's owner was very impressed with the almost-liquid, baby oil, look.

No LSP yet.

The white car is the Nissan's owners Audi A4.

3M's Ultrafina has always been a great product for final, slow jewelling.

Mirka UF3 gives a more "sophisticated" pseudo-candy look...reminds me of NXT2 or premium carnaubas.

The red looks watery wet, and noticeably better vs PO85RD and Ultrafina

Very impressive product, if the detailing job's price and timing allows you the luxury of slow jewelling!

I have been using a lot of Mirka T10, but I guess you already know that Menzerna are manufacturing for Mirka?

EDIT:

Regarding to the carnauba look: UF3 contains carnauba for protection.

Nice review gigondaz.

Good info porta - Scholls is doing quite a bit of relabeling too. I take it that Mirka is only manufacturing abrasives for sandpaper then?

Gigondaz- Do you think your results are rotary-dependent or could one use a RO/DA for this?

Gee, my MPV sure never looked as nice as that one

Btw, nice gloss on those cars!

Yes, Scholl and Menzerna are doing a lot of relabeling. Not sure what Mirka does, but I guess your are right. They are not manufacturing polish, pads or polisher - thats for sure.

Thanks Acc...and Happy New Year!!

For jewelling, IMO, rotary produces the most optimum and noticeable results. RO and DA do not give me results that justify the time spent on jewelling.

Yes, Porta.

UF3 contains wax, and Mirka is made by Menzerna.

T10 is another great product!

Happy New Year!

Mirka has traditionally been renowned for "abrasives products". Mirka Abralon is another good stuff.

My Mirka salesperson recommended that try out the superfine polishes, and many years back, I was quite happy with Mirka T10. Now, I've also embraced the superfine UF3.
