A good friend of mines e55 amg was keyed at the mall. I thought itd be hopeless upon first inspection because i could feel the scratch with my nail. Anyway, i tried some scratch x and it did a great job.

Oh yea applied and worked in with a viking applicator i bought from the dollar store. The foam seems a little too rough for applying waxes and sealants but it worked perfectly in this scenario.

Looks to me a little like the residue of what the idiot used to attack the paintwork, maybe plastic from the offending item? If that is the case then ScratchX would be perfect.

I did not like scratch x when I first tried it but I must have improved my technique cause I think it is pretty good stuff too. I've used it with my PC and a green Sonus pad and been very happy. It removed cobwebs and other rubs that refracted light strangely.

thanks guys, i think i lucked out alot this time. i honestly thought it went through clear coat cause i could pick at the scratch with my nail

theres probably .0001 mm of cc left. lol

Didn't know ScratchX could handle something like that. I've used it successfully on faint lines, but nothing like that. Good job !

Process was very simple. But i have to reiterate that i was very lucky. If the scratch was any deeper, the scratch would still be visible.

step 1) clean surface. I just used DP waterless car wash spray

step 2) I squeezed a half an inch line of scratch x on to my viking applicator pad. I think the applicator pad made the difference because the foam wassome what coarser than most foam applicator pads. It looks like the s100 foam applicator pad foam but its actually a bit coarser; Alot coarser than the megs yellow foam pad. btw, i picked these up at my dollar store.

Step3) i worked the product in vertically on the panel. The scratch was horizontal, so i worked against it. I started with moderated pressure then added a bit more.

step 4) wipe off with mf, inspect. If it wasnt totally gone, id repeat step 3.

yup, so scratch gone
