The perfect solution?

My brother is going to hook me up with a test hood from work (he works at Abra). I am going to use it to learn how to wet sand.

Ofcourse I will use it to test products also.

I was just wondering what you guys think is the perfect solution, for the best shine, with adaquit (sp?) protection.

Keep in mind that this will be a hood of a smashed car, and probobly in rough shape in referance to paint.

The paint on my truck is nearly perfect, so I will just kind of pick off of the products that you guys recomend.

I KNOW this has been disgused before, but I didn't know what terms to search, so I just made this topic in the newbie forum.

Are you saying that you're concerned about protection on a smashed hood that is just for practice?

There is no one product that produces the best shine and protection. Polishes brings out the most shine, and LSPs provide little improvement in appearance over a good polishing job.

As far as a sealant recommendation, I recommend FourStar Ultimate Paint Protection (UPP). It gives a great gloss and lasts long from what I can tell. It also produces the slickest finish I've ever felt. :up

No, ofcourse...I couldn't care less about the hood. I am just saying, I will be using it to test products, and was asking what kind of products (In a series or a full exterior detail) you guys recomended.

I am not looking for just one product...I am looking for a series.

From the searching I did earlier, it looked like Pinnacle was the most recomended, I was just... You know.

Pinnacle makes some excellent products, but there are many product lines that are great.

I love Pinnacle Paste Glaz as a carnauba topper. It's supposed to be aimed at lighter colors though.

Favorite sealant - UPP

Favorite polish line - 3M PI III MG + RC

Light polishing - GEPC

Cleaner - Klasse AIO

Wax (durability) - Meg's #16
