The Other Side of the Free Market System

In 1988 I had a similar experience with an M3 I wanted to purchase. Up in New York all my local dealers added around 5k to that car. Back in 1988 on a 30k car that was crazy money. Not only did I get a car. I found a dealer in Florida, Vista Motors that was willing to sell it at a decent price. I flew to Florida, bought the car, and it shipped to NY. There were other issues with that deal but in the end it all worked out without a premium being tacked on.

I have no problem with capitalism. But I don't negotiate with terrorists or like feeling like I am getting taken Advantage of.

I hope that car sits so long that they have to discount it below msrp to move it.

sorry, but I can't buy into that "greed is good" or "whatever the market will bear" thing. guess that explains this crazy, affluent life I lead.:bubba

I am sure someone will buy it...some lose that much in Vegas in a few minutes and never feels it.

Poor argument using one particular very high end vehicle to make your point

If you don't like the Corvette price, buy a 2014 Vette, buy a Hellcat, buy a Porsche, wait a year and buy a used 2015, lots of options

You want something that they have and they can charge whatever they want for it

I want to try OPT Gloss Coat. I'm not willing to pay what they are asking. I purchased a different coating at a price I like better.

I love that we live in a country where a business is allowed to price something as they see fit.

Having said that, I hope that thing rots on their lot before someone pays a nickel over MSRP

There was a car dealer in the little town near me that at one time had Pontiac, Oldsmoblie, Chevy, and Dodge! They kept a Chevy SS454 truck on the lot for 3 years before someone bought it and a PT Cruiser for 2.5, yeah - they were not known as a "volume" dealer. Today, the original owners sold out after losing the factory support and it's a used car lot.....

Actually, when I was looking for mine, there were more than half the dealers adding 5k + to stickers

Not this cowboy
