The importance of a BANGIN' website

Jean-Claude

Keeper of the beautiful
Since my new website has been up I have had countless folks call and start the conversation by saying how awesome my new site is. I wish I could take credit for it, but the truth of the matter is that my web developer is a MACK at web design and marketing.

He took me from just wanting a few pages to getting video testimonial up as well as an awesome stop-motion-type video of me detailing a GT-R.

I realize that my specialized area is not marketing, it's getting cars right. I told him to take the old website and take what he could and just make mine better. What he did was 100x more than I expected. He would sit with me for hours just talking about what I do, how I do it and what I think of my clients(all with blunt honesty) and he catered my site into, what I feel is a masterpiece.

The point of all of this is this. In my humble opinion, if you feel like you are struggling to get those new calls, revamp that sucker with some PROFESSIONAL help. We tell car guys all the time that they can do a get-me-by type job themselves or they can let us get their car way better than they can. It's the same with websites guys.

I would say my website now generates about 12~20 calls per week(even in this shoddy Winter weather!). When you see my prices you will understand how that's a great figure for what's basically a new site that has not been optimized yet. I told him to take his time on the optimization as I am getting plenty of calls and he is busy. I don't know what I will do when it gets optimized. /gulp!

Check out what he did for me:

Please take the time to watch the video testimonial as well as the GT-R stop video footage. He filmed, edited and interviewed for all of it. He's a master of his trade and I can say enough about the overall experience!!!

Atlanta Car Detailing, Clear Bra Installation, Paint Correction - Detailed Designs Auto Spa

One more thing, IE users may experience some problems. He said he'd fix those soon. Again, I've not pushed him to as he has taken great care of me and I've had plenty of work to keep busy.

Good thread, i completely agree that a good looking website helps out, not in all cases but if a customer see's a nice well thought out website again a one page crappy job even if the person has better quality work there gonna go to the person with the nice looking website. most people dont know anything about detailing quality so thats a good way of getting there business, website looks nice and clean, you need to add some links on "what we offer" so that takes you to the service page, and IMO i would re-size the images so there quicker to go through, i dont like waiting for pics, but thats just me. keep us posted see how new business goes from website

One of the biggest things you can do to promote a professional image as most clients will have never interacted with you, is to have such a beautiful website like Jean Claude's. Very well done.

Very nice...very VISUAL. I have been complimented by many clients on how well designed and knowlegable they've become from my site.

mine is getting a revamp as well...its going to have....well, you will just have to wait and see!

I agree though, a well designed website is key. I know its gotten myself a few jobs because my site was better looking and explained more than the other guys!

Looks great! I do my own which is always a work in progress .......... of sorts.

+1. I have received many compliments from clients and fellow detailers alike, but I always strive to make it better looking and more informative. At the moment I'm in the process of re-doing some pages to make the text pop a little more and I'm looking into adding a good color to the whole carbon fiber mix I have going on now. I always looked at jaison's (TSS) website for motivation and still do.

JC, the new site looks great. I would just highly advise you to tell the web guy to immediately add titles to your pages.. unless I don't see any on Mozilla Firefox. In any case, layout is perfect and I love the Services page layout. Very good idea to have the photos then a popout for a description.

Thanks and about the titles/optimization, we are going to be getting together soon to work on it.

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides getting your titles/image tags going-get some pay-per-click advertising on google to help jump start the views. My site has been online for over a year now and it's FINALLY on page 2 organically. I've relied heavily on pay per click and conventional (newspaper) advertising to drive site views.

JC, I love that "perforated leather" background.

Simple, classy, detailing-related, and it doesn't make the text difficult to read.

Great job on the website!!!!!:wavey

New member here, I too just got a new website up and running recently ( check it out by clicking the signature links )

I want to stress anyone who has or is working on their online presence, to make sure you claim your business on Google Places ( map listings ) and fill out your profile.

Now Google is the most visited, but go ahead and claim your business on Yahoo and Bing.

These are extremely important as they appear above the organic listings.

Good Luck

If anyone needs help, just PM me.
