The Griot's black "L" swab.

Auto Detail & Restoration
I have been speaking with Griot reps at Ault Park Concours and this weekend at Keenland Concours.

It has been confirmed that they are

discontinuing the white/blue and white cone "L" swab. I have been buying the kit that included these for a while. I believe it was Accumulator who asked if I could find out more.

I spent some time talking and they are relaying interest back. If anything else I'm working to find a way to get them or where. Will let those interested know.

The new kit includes more of the white rectangle swabs. I did pick one up. I guess we'll be heating and bending those till more info comes out.:(

The L shape was great for outerlaced wire wheels and

other jobs.

concours.john- Eh, that's bad news :( Should you ever find another source I'll be ordering plenty of 'em.

The other swabs I have just don't work the same for me, and I have a whole routine where I use the blue side foam for some things and the other/white side for other stuff, besides using the "L"-shaped cone end for certain tasks. Of all the things for them to discontinue  Can't believe that you and I are apparently the only people who care :nixweiss

Out of curiosity, can anyone post a photo or link to what these swabs look like. Would be a big help when looking other sources or viable alternatives.

Photo of said swabs. My last two

.....till we meet again my friends :(

Concourswanna b- Thanks for posting that link...gotta think whether 15 of the desired ones are worth all those others (of which I already have dozens and dozens)

Eh, just placed my order for two sets, don't wanna miss out on what might be my last chance.

Thanks again!

EDIT: No, they *do not* have the double ended swabs :( Order cancelled.

They haven't emailed me back yet... probably sell to pharm. companies with clean rooms.

Maybe Barry can get somewhere...

I would think those might also be useful to photographers as well -- maybe see if camera shops have something like that meant for cleaning lenses/camera bodies?
