The Dealer Washed My Car!

:eek

I took my car in on Saturday for its 5,000 mile checkup. Even though it was raining, the dealer washed my car. I had debated on telling them not to wash it, but I thought that since it was raining, they wouldn't.

So, I learned a lesson. :beat

Hopefully, there will be no new swirl marks on it when I go to detail it again.

For what it's worth though, there were no swirl marks on my car when I bought it, unlike what others here have reported from their dealers. Was my case a fluke, or do I have a caring dealer? Stay tuned...

I think that some dealers get a bad name from the few that really do not care. The one that I got my car from does a great job washing the cars I've seen the area the use. I'm sure you car is OK and nothing a little SSR1 will not take care of.

Yes tell them no right from the get go. I took my Civic in for it's 5000 and it was snowing and I had a 40 minute ride home. They were taking forever and I asked what was the hold up and he said they were waiting to finish washing a couple of more cars before they got to mine. I told him to forget the car wash I was wanting to go. So he pulled it around for me. So not only will they not scratch your car up if you say no but you will be on your way quicker. LOL

I never have the dealer wash the exterior of a new or detailed car. But vacuuming the trunk and interior isn't bad -- tell 'em to just do that.

A body shop just washed mine. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. I was trying to hide swirls with Ex for the past couple weeks since I knew I was having moldings repainted. Even though my car is not totally done, they need more parts and I took my car back for now, I went to pick it up and he said "Couple minutes, they are almost done washing it." I wanted to freak!! They uncovered the swirls I was hiding and added a few of their own. Once the new paint on the molding cures I'm going to polish the **** out of my Legend.

I feel your pain. The last time my car was at the Stealership, I had a note attached to the work order, a permanent note on my account in their system, talked to all the guys at the service counter and had a 4"x6" orange card attached to my keys saying "DO NOT WASH CAR".
They washed it.
