Does any one ever use this thing:D

Lets see if we could get a time & day when we know we can log on and chat about detailing.

I see all the names logged in on autopia, it should be fun and helpful for people that need quick advice.

all we need is a day & time. for example tuesdays @ 9pm

lets see if we could get this going

NY detailer, they chat every Monday and Wednesday night at 9:30 EST. Last week we had like 10 people in there at once.

Well now you and anyone else that didn't realize it, knows.
 
Considering the past, um, "issues" with detailing chats, I still don't understand why the Autopia chat is not promoted. Instead, mention of it is relegate to the unofficial Autopia Black Hole - Off-Topic.



I think there should be a perma-sticky reminding all Autopians to chat with us at a coordinated time. Currently we use the Yo Steve chat time of Monday and Wednesday nights at 9:30PM Eastern. That's fine by me but we could chat any ol' time if others want it changed.

I personally don't have the time to chatting everyday. It's difficult to keep up when you're doing so many things at once.

Check Off-Topic for chat announcements. We always bring up a thread with a link to chat when we are going to be chatting.

As Steve mentioned, many of us have AOL Instant Messenger, which is a free program that lets you do 1:1 chatting and also allows for group chat rooms :).

We had a thread back a few months ago but I can't find it now. Anyone else have any luck?

The problem I have with AIM chats is that they are unscheduled and not inclusive. Basically its the cyber version of a phone call. Not group friendly.



With regularly scheduled chats, its more like a conference call. We all go to one place and meet everyone at once. That's why it should be promoted; so everyone knows when and where to meet.



I like PFG's idea of having more frequent group chats. Two nights a week isn't alot. If you're busy those nights you miss out. I'd like to see them 3-5 times a week at the same time. That way more people can participate as their schedule and desire dictates.
