The Champ's got something new to detail!

We've had a pool tournament going on for the last couple weeks at school.

All games prior to the Championship game were "8-ball straight-in" and the winner of one game advances.

The Championship Game was best 2 out of 3, "8-ball last-pocket".

The first game... I took it with 4 of my opponent's balls still on the table. :)

The second game...I had all 7 of mine cleared, and working on the 8 ball, while he still had 6 balls left! Then he cleared them all and the 8 ball!

The third game...This game was tough. I called my last ball in the corner pocket, and it went off the 2 rails and bounced across the table into the opposite corner  which means that my opponent gets to pick the pocket that I must make the 8 ball into. Of course he picked a side pocket. Long story short, I bumped the 8 ball closer to the pocket a couple times, and then cut it in. He still had 2 balls left. :)

So...

Has anyone detailed a trophy before? What should I use to shine it up?

Congrats, Paul!

As for detailing it, you should start with 80 grit sandpaper, then a light sandblasting. It'll look good as new!

I'm thinking of something a LITTLE more gentle than that!

Maybe a gentle wash and some Paste Glaz. :)

BTW, I just increased my "new tires fund" by $10.00 at the pool table. :D

Congrats on winning the tourney. I really like the trophy.

I use to play pool religiously when I was in high school. My best friend had a table in his basement, then my cousin put one in his basement after the huge interest. Every weekend it was one or the other for pool  Now we play Texas hold em on the $800 pool table

Brings back good memories.

Great Job! Let's see some before and afters!

Well here is a pic of my two trophies after wash and Paste Glaz. The other trophy is from a salmon fishing tournament I won in 1999.
