*The * best drying towel you've used.

Pretty straight forward question, requiring a pretty straight forward answer ;)

I wanna see if there is a trend in which type of drying towel seems to be the best. This is my most dreaded/hated part about detailing as I don't used any leaf blower, etc.

Let's hear em!

I favor Pakshak's Waffle Weave Towel.

I always use a Mothers "laminated" waffleweave drying towel...that's the key. Sucks up water like a vacuum. Follow up with virtually any decent waffleweave to remove residual moisture. Really, really fast.

I would also have to place my vote for Pak Shak as my current favorite. As long as the quality/performance of their towels doesn't change anytime soon, PS will likely continue to be my main sources. ....or at least a benchmark.

I still have some older Cobra WW's that still perform quite well but I have been very disappointed in everything that I have tried from their line in recent years (which is why I switched over to PS a while ago when it came time to retire some of my other towels). Their quality may have changed since then but I was so put off by my experiences that I really have no interest in trying them again.

Having said all of that, I have to admit that my WW's don't see as much use these days since I use DI filtration and do most of my drying with forced air.

It is a great blotter. I start with wiping down the glass to get it primed and then use more as a blotter on the paint.

So for the trend appears to be the Pak Shak towels.

Does anyone have any experience with Adam's "Great White" drying towel?

The best drying towel I ever used was a grey waffle weave I got from the Autopia store way long back ago.

I use Detailers Choice available at my local Fleet and Farm the work great and do not scratch and easily available . They are 9 sq. feet .

Towel pros waffle weave , as high a quality as the others at a fraction of the price, with exceptional customer service to boot!

Yvan,

Thank you, but at this time we are completely sold out! Working on a new order/shipment for 5000 of them in the next month.

Yeah, same here. No silky border, but still a great towel.

I have some very similar (but not quite identical) gray WWs from MicrofiberTech that are also very good.

My PakShak and Sonus WWs (the same thing except for the color) are good, but they become less effective after a while.

Yvan,

We are biting and ordering 5000 of the 20x40" ww towels with nice edges. Prices will compete since we won't upsell 1000% like others- we have talked so no need for names. However, it's a nice 2 month process. I'll take you up on an offer for a few hundred- probably take pre orders at huge discounts to get the capital since as you know, all payment is upfront when producing towels overseas.

Accumulator....

Good point regarding diminishing ability to absorb water. Have forgotten where most of mine have come from. Have started marking them.

On the other end though, the Megiuars and the Chemical Guys waffle weaves are some of the worst drying towels Ive ever used. At first I thought it was me, so I bought a few more. Same result. Nice looking towels with nice borders, but they dont really absorb as well as I would like. Think Ill stick with the MicrofiberTech ones for now as they seem to give me the best results so far (I cant seem to find the original grey ones in the autopia store).

Or, I might give the Zaino towels a go.

Decisions decisions......
