Thanks to everyone here for your help! (kind of long)

YNOT

Poorboys Rules!
I've been a car fanatic since I was a child. Growing up my father was always working on his cars and he was a 'neat freak', so keeping the cars clean was always at the top of the list. All of the kids in the neighborhood knew that you didn't touch Mr. Moore's cars...or else!

So as my brother and I became of driving age we were always picky with our cars and customizing them was also something we did and took great pride in. Over the years, every car I owned was customized and was taken to car shows and I was frequently winning trophies and all those years the most I did to them was wash and wax them. It netted me trophies, so I thought I was doin' it right by just keeping it spotless. I cringe now to think about how I cared for them as I would wash them with dish soap and use normal bath towels to dry them. It's what we had, so it's what we used. I was always agitated by the swirls I'd see, but never knew how to get rid of them. I thought wax would hide them, but it never did and many of the cars I'd see at the shows had swirls so I just assumed I had to live with them.

As of last year, I sold my customized ZX3 so basically I'm out of the car show scene right now. That's when this place comes in...

I've learned so many tips and tricks over the last year here that I just wish I would've known (or inquired) more about detailing sooner. I never knew there was so much great stuff available and that it all worked so well.

So I just wanna say thanks to everyone here and especially to Troy for providing and maintaining such a helpful board. This place has changed me and the way I care for my cars. Thanks to you guys (and gals) I'm now an anal retentive detailing nut.

My hope is that there are younger car enthusiasts, who are passionate about their cars like I used to be, who find this place and can benefit from the knowledge here and hopefully help them to achieve better results on their cars and make them much more proud of their rides! I frequent many other car boards and am always trying to 'pimp' this place and express the importance of detailing to other enthusiasts with the hopes that they'll take it more seriously.

So, as cheesy as it may sound, thanks to all of you for making this such a great community and for helping me to make my cars look better than ever!

DC does rule!! :dcrules

This was my entrance into detailing 3 years ago and I haven't looked back! I'm glad that you were able to learn a lot from this site, there sure is a lot of information to go through.

BTW- your site is in my favorites, I like to go there from time to time and look at all of your work in there, great stuff :rockon

You gotta love hanging out here just so you can admire your header.;)

Thanks Tony, all this praise, why do I feel like you want something??:rofl

I'm glad that you've become a part of our community. I've really grown quite fond of it as well. I can only imagine what the finish on my car would look like now if I hadn't found this site.

I thought that I was pretty good when I joined up here...but I have really learned a lot about products and processes...its made me a much better detailer

Thanks to all for what they have to offer..

I think all of us evolve as detailers. Better products which allow me to work smarter. The addition of mechanical polishing tools also aided in the process. I did have to laugh at your bath towel comment. There are a number of us here that lived in a time where bath towels and real chamois were the only drying tool options. At least some of us managed just fine using them then and probably still could. :)

Thanks man! I hope to update it soon with some cool new stuff.

Nah...seriously, I truly am grateful and much happier with my black SUV now.

I did have to laugh at your bath towel comment. There are a number of us here that lived in a time where bath towels and real chamois were the only drying tool options.

It's what my Dad always used, so I just followed suit. Nowadays, I've been pickin' up extra MF towels, supplies and the like and showin' my dad some things. I'm tryin' to get him a bit more educated...lol. You know...when you get older, those swirls get harder to see, so proper detailing techniques are important. Sorry Dad...just kiddin' if you're readin' this.

Seriously, I'm not tryin to blow smoke up anyone's _ _ _. I really appreciate this site and all the great stuff I've learned. Cleaning my car has always been somewhat 'therapeutic' to me...a great way to relax and see good results when I'm done and now, I can really see GREAT results thanks to DC.

I truly enjoy the site as well. Everyone is as enthusiastic about detailing as I am and that keeps me pumped.

I've even told friends and family members about the site but they all just tell me that they'll get their information from me or I'll just let you handle my car issues. (More $$$$ for me...LOL)

Most of all the knowledge that is being shared is not BS and I truly appreciate that.
