I have been back but kind of out of touch for a few weeks. Had a few details to do that I had to cancel, so I have been very busy, but it was good, and gave me a chance to work through alot of stuff on my own; something I needed to do after I was done taking care of everyone else. Everything got wrapped up at home just fine.
I had to organize, conduct, and eulogize my Dad's life for my family, and while it was hard to do at first, the Lord blessed me with the right things to say, and everyone came out of there saying it was the best Funeral they had ever attended. Now a few weeks later, people are still talking about it and how good it made them feel.
We had a Visitation on Sunday night, the day before the Funeral, and a couple of hundred people came to that - some from as far away as beyond Dallas and other places; all coming to extend their condolences and hugs especially to my Mother, for all that she and my Dad had done for them over all these years.
We had gone through many, many pictures and had alot of them set out on tables at this event, so that everyone could see the life of my Dad in pictures too.
If you ever have the time to experience a Military Funeral, I would highly recommend it. It was done with great diginity and honor for my Dad and our great Country. The 21-gun Salute was unbelieveable to hear, and right when you thought you couldnt take it any longer, a lone, elderly ex-soldier in uniform, played a most beautiful rendition of "Taps". Not a dry eye in the place after that...
A really sweet, young Soldier gave my Mom the US Flag that covered my Dad's coffin, and said some really nice things to her and she really appreciated it.
I am so grateful for my Dad's life; I will live on and honor the legacy of so many great things he left me to pass on.
Thanks again, all of you ! Your heartfelt comments and thoughts mean so much to me and my family.
Please know that I will ever be there for each one of you as we live out our lives here and elsewhere. That is a promise, and as you know, we Texans, misplaced, or not, always keep our word !

Best,
Dan and Ginie Franco
