Might as well get something done during this cold snap, so I'll get caught up again on details!


 


2014 Cadillac CTS-V wagon. Owner is in Florida, bought the car through Sewell Cadillac in Dallas. He contacted me through another forum and worked it out so I could get his car properly coated before it was sent to him. 


 


Really ugly day, low 40s and fog that took all day to lift. Luckily the car was well inside the parking structure at Sewell so it was dry (but chilly) in there. The paint was in excellent shape but the initial wash still took longer than usual due to the cold, damp air. I ended up using the halogens for not only lighting up the paint but also warming it up a bit as well to make things easier.

Optimum Primer using an Optimum microfiber cutting pad and Rupes 21 DA


Wipe down with ONR dampened towel (best choice considering the cold, damp conditions)


Optimum Coating applied to paint and wheels


Optimum Glass Coating applied to windshield

2014 Tesla Model S. Owner recently picked it up, declined cosmetic prep so it was in really good shape.

2014 Nissan GTR. 700 hp and it looks completely stock! Not like any GTR can be a sleeper, but adding a couple hundred horsepower and keeping it stock looking might surprise some other high powered cars. 


 


Owner obviously does a nice job washing it, very minimal swirling.

I got a new camera last month, seems to have a lot of problems with contrast with dark cars on a sunny day, its like I'm using my 35 mm SLR again. Trying to get it sorted out, included a couple cell phone pics since my crappy smart phone does a better job than the Nikon Coolpix 620 is so far. But at least it can handle red cars, unlike the Olympus digital camera I've been using.

I got a Nikon Coolpix L620. Great job on video and pictures most of the time but darker cars in the full sun look washed out. 


 


Looked online, found the manual (all you get these days is a CD manual) and where the exposure adjustment settings were, hope it helps. 
 
Awesome work as usual guys! I thought I liked the '13 Teslas, the '14s are nice! 700hp GTR is crazy! I can't even imagine the launch in that! I think the launch control in '11-'12s is crazy! 700 is nuts! Vette with soft paint? Almost seems wrong? Looks good! When's the Primer going to be available? Been hearing about it. Need to try. What's it like?
 
Surprised the C7 had soft clear, wasn't expecting it. I'll reserve judgment on the paint until I do one in another color. 


 


Primer comes with Optimum Coating only, at least for now. Not sure if Optimum will add it to their polish line-up or not. Good stuff, decent cut, excellent glossy finish. 
 
Great work and photos Scott. That Nissan is really sharp. You used the Optimum Hyper, is that because of the paint Nissan uses? I ask because I have Nissan Titan.

What I would give for a mid to upper 30 degree day let alone a 40 degree day...LOL
 
Actually, OHP does work great on Nissan paint. And its an excellent medium grade polish that leaves a great finish.
