Terrible Day

Was 87F and sunny out this morning went out to wash my car. I started out cleaning the dreaded BMW brake dust of my wheels. Got them cleaner then I have ever gotten then, then I proceeded to wash and then finished off with finial detail. We had a small thunderstorm in the middle of the day, later on we left for Lake Geneva Wisconsin and the bugs where just tremendous I was already pissed my car got bombarded with them, they literally sounded like rain drops. Anyway we stopped for dinner, overlooking the horizon I see huge storms with lighting and such. Now what I left out of the story was that 2 of my windows and a skylight was open to the max back at home, including a window in the office which has a printer/fax machine right next to (*which was replaced once before after being flooded in 2003*). Anyway we start heading home, it was wet, but it wasn’t raining. The car was trashed now *im really pissed now* upon entering the zone about 3 miles away from my house there where literally flash floods and hail with 3-4 inch standing water on the road. Worst of all a freaking tanker trunk is gong so slow in front of me the whole way home, I’m thinking the entire house is flooded now, with the printer and fax flooded. Anyway I got to my street and it was totally dry, lucky we got there 2-3 minutes in time to close the windows. My car is totally trashed; it looks as if it was taken off-road. The entire car outside has muddy water spots all over it and bug juice all over the front of the car.

well im sorry to hear about the low points of the day but at least the stuff at your house didnt get damaged. At least you get to spend more time with you car now!

Greg

Yep, yeah thank god that storm didn't go thru the area my house was located at. There would be nearly an inch of water in that fax machine. Last time this happand as well sunny day, we left for a while coming back home there was a down pour and the old fax machine got flooded, we dried it out, but it never worked the same afterwards. This new one was close to $500 I think, would be bad if it got flooded to.

Im really ticked about the car though, totally trashed, but I can rewash really quick tommorow I still have my bucket filled with 4* was in the garage so it shouldnt take long. I really need to get new pads for my car, the stock BMW pads are terrible they will literally give the wheels a slight greyish haze after 10-15 miles of normal non sprinted driving.

Ya bmw pads are harsh! Have you tried poorboys wheel sealant for easier cleaning?

Greg

I use UPP, even then I think it sucks because you have to wash to get them looking clean again, the inside of the wheel will turn grey/black after 20 miles or less of driving.

Sound like a typical Mid-West storm. :)
While it might be frustrating to have to clean the car again, the one word in your weather description that worried me was hail!
That is something that I have only had happen to one car, one time.
It has to be one of the most disheartening sights I have ever experienced.

Charles

Hehe, this hail was dime size, just made loud noises nothing else. Its supposed to be like that again today, so im not even going to bother washing the car again.
