Teflon Tire Shine

JaredPointer

COME AT ME BRO
I saw a guy I know in the parking deck today during lunch. We were chatting and I noticed his truck had been cleaned up, and it looked fairly nice. His tires ,however, looked outstanding. I asked him what he had used on them and he said Dupont's Teflon Tire Shine. He said he had cleaned it this weekend, but the tires looked freshly dressed. No sling was apparent either. I asked him if any had slung on the paint and he said no. The truck looked clean, but had the normal day or two accumulation of dust on it, so I take it he had not wiped it down with a spray and wipe since cleaning it. So, what I would like to hear is have any of you tried this stuff? I may pick it up and give it a try. I don't wanna buy into the Teflon marketing ploy, but this stuff looked good. Any thoughts??

I have it. It is a very good product....I couldn't get the stuff to sling no matter how heavy I applied it. It looks very good.....HOWEVER, it DOES NOT last through rain or a wash. But, it was free after mail-in rebate (I don't think it still is, I got it a few months ago), so I can't complain. Hi-Temp Grape Tire Dressing is still my favorite though.

Wew can I find this product? Also not a Zaino fan but there trie gloss is one of the best that I have used. I think that its along these lines

Man, I must have gotten a bum bottle or not know how to use it. I could not get it to dry and it left white dots all over my tires even after drying ALL night. The stuff I have is a white thin liquid much like armorall or #40. Are we talking about the same product?

They do have Teflon Tire Shine and Teflon Protectant. Bottled in much the same way. I saw them sitting side by side at the store one day and had to do a double take. I guess I will get me a bottle of this stuff then. I see it locally here, so I might as well give it a try! Thanks everybody!!

This si the Zaino that I was talking about. I do nto care for most all there products but this one was really good

Does anyone know if this product has any "harmful" ingredients in it? I am just really surprised at how well this tire dressing looked for an OTC product. Usually the stuff is all greasy and slings. Oh well...I guess I'll give it a try anyhow.

black magic tire gel

try this stuff (available at pepboys ...) -

I washed my car this weekend - applied it via a curved sponge and after three days of rain they still look like they were just swiped!

Groebuck, is the Black Magic in a gel form (I think I know what you're talking about...just want to be sure.)? I remember back in my younger day trying some Black Magic Tire Wet that slung off EXTREMELY bad. It was in a spray bottle.

It's miky and white like 303 Aerospace Protectant, and comes in a black spray bottle. I don't spray it ON the tire, I spray it on a damp sponge, then apply to the tire.

Same product, but I applied with a dry cotton towel. I must have gotten a bum bottle or something.

no black magic comes in a bottle like Meg's High Endurance - very thick gel you apply with a tire swipe and let dry - new formula (basically a rip off of high endurance but seems to work well)

Hmmm very close to Endurance High Gloss? I have that stuff and I just wanna get rid of it. I can't seem to get tires working with that stuff. I think it makes it worse for future dressings! VRT by Adam's rocks though.

Okay. I got it now. Thanks. I will be stopping today and looking at getting some of the Teflon Tire Shine. I appreciate all the responses.

I hear some complaints about the bottle cap of this product, too much room for spilling and apparently it cant come in a spray bottle as spraying would be using too much. Sounds like it needs to come in a flip top bottle

To get maixmium gloss without overspray, use a cooking oil sprayer, that's how I apply 303 to my tires

Bill, my time in the kitchen has been somewhat limited throughout my life. What is this cooking oil sprayer that you speak of???

If you go to the Walmart cooking utensil aisle you may see a clear bottle with a black cap, you pump the cap on the bottle and the spray produces a mist similar to an aerosol. I love these bottles for dressings and QDs :bigups
