i noticed there are nice scratches near the plastic wiper sprayer things on the hood, how do i tape these off and attemp getting the pc in that area?

some thoughts were to use funtac (my sisters a school teacher) but i think that would fly off if i hit it.

Use painters tape (about $5 for a 1" wide roll). There are cheaper versions but they are crap. Wal-Mart and Home Depot sell the 3M tape, Lowes sells a different brand. DO NOT buy the brand Lowes sells. I used it to tape construction paper on our stone floors before painters came in and either the tape did not stick or it stuck like glue.

i know about the 3m tape blue tape it a nice adhesive that works well. i have tried the cheap stuff before and it s**ks. but thanks for your reply. (this also hold true for electrical tape, they also make cheap stuff) i always buy 3m scotch tape, you could never go wrong.

tape method is what i was looking for, i tried to tape around the edge but it was an awful attempt(mybe because the roll i had was 2" wide, i'm not sure. its very rainy here today in middletown nj, so soon as it clears i'll try something else, i am thinkin it might be easier to just cut a rounded square like shape out and just cover it, then taping around that tiny spayer. i also though about removing them, is this a good idea? will the hole rip my pad? are these things easy to remove and reinstall?

Cheapshot- Yeah, those nozzles can be a pain, I've had some cars where I just couldn't seem to mask them right and/or the tape would always come off :o Using smaller tape than the 2" stuff might help.

And you're right about using quality tape :xyxthumbs

TW85 HHI is right about the cheap [stuff] at Lowes, it's awful!

Sometimes the nozzles come off pretty easily, but then you have to re-aim them after you reinstall.

Maybe just try polishes that don't stain. Some people swear by rubber cement ( ) but I haven't tried that yet.
