Tailpipe Cleaning

Any suggestions on how to clean tailpipes? I tried "Never Dull" and that didn't seem to do too much... Maybe I was applying it wrong? Should I completely take the tailpipes off and just clean them and then put them back on, or any other thoughts? Thanks!

My shop's favourite product to clean tailpipes:

Meguiar's 105. Gets rid of the most crap, and looks nice.

If that's not strong enough, keep the tailpipe wet with WD40 for 30min.

Then rub it with THINNER.

Then 105. :lock:

Depending on the finish, I would be careful with using M105.

If the tail pipes are easy enough to remove, that would obviously give you an advantage since it will be easier to work on those pieces. It’s hard to say if Never Dull is truly “ineffective” in your case without knowing how you applied it. IMO/IME, with metal polishes, it can take some patience and effort to produce the results you are after. ….sometimes requiring several applications. Again, it depends on the material/finish as to how aggressive I might get.
