well i picked up my beater for the winter from my buddy about 2 months ago for $300. its a 96 mazda 626 with 120,000 miles. it runs perfect but was badly taken care off. i hope to finish this car before winter comes since i can only work on it so often. basically my process for this car will be:

SSR 3 via PC wool pad to the whole car

SSR 2.5 via PC white pad

SSR 1 via PC white pad

*not sure on lsp yet*

just one pic for now, all i did was the decklid and then it started pouring out, so i did the mats instead.

the wool pad, SSR 3 and PC cleaned up very well. it cut very well into the paint and brought back a nice shine. it did leave me some nice swirls to clean up tho but im sure the ssr2.5 and white pad should clean those up. check back often for updates

OMG!! That's just amazing!!

You know, that picture almost looks like someone started with a fairly decent shine (right side) and then did a poor masking job before they sprayed grey primer on the surface (left side). To think you actually restored to that degree with a PC is just fantastic - great job!!

holy cow. did he just leave it out in the sun wihtout moving the entire time? i wouldn't give him $300, i would give him a well earned ***** slap. great work though. there isn't even an attempt at shine on the left side.

well just the trunk is that bad, heres the rest of the car

i buffed the rear end tonight with the wool pad, came out very smooth but lots of swirls. ill definitly need ssr2.5 and orange pad maybe even yellow. i can only work on this for about 30 mins each day b/c i work and then go to school at night

That engine bay is nasty!! It looks like he went off roading or something. I just have no idea how that could possibly get that dirty.

i have sprayed it down with purple power once and just sprayed it off the other day just to get most of the grime off since i didnt have a lot of time. by the way, this pic ^is before anything to clear things up. next time, ill let it soak and scrub with a brush.

here comes adam, whoring his projects...

I get to see all of your threads here and on CRSX

nasty engine...ugh

one update

well i really havent had time to work on this, been busy this whole week and its been freezing here but i did finish the rear end. after the wool pad, i used Optimum Polish via Pc orange pad and then a white pad

heres the what it looks like just after the polishing

heres a good tip 4 ya........clean the engine BEFORE you attempt to polish the front end as to keep those degreasers and dressings of "that newly buffed paint" :)

:werd: Take care of the interior and engine bay first.

You have your work cut out for you but it appears you are already making excellent progress. I am very interested in seeing what you can do with this car.
