hey all,

i got something to tell you all. i was at pep-boys yesterday and some guy started talking to me how mothers products are way better than meguiars products. he told me that megs stuff dont work and that mothers is the best out there!! he uses mothers products and he even told me that the place where he gets his car detailed, they use mothers.

heh, i just listen to what he had to say and i just kept my mouth shut, oh well. he went to grab the mothers synthetic wax and he showed it to me. now he said that the synthetic wax is not a sealant. is this true?

im not a detailing expert so im didnt want to comment on anything. and another thing, meguiars has a #21 synthetic sealant and #20 polymer sealant.
in general what is the difference between synthetic sealants and polymer sealants?? which one is more durable and stronger? thanks for the inputs!!

mothers products are good, but meguiars has just as much history and is just as reputable. meguiars has a lot more options when it comes to what u want, and makes products for different users. user-friendly, professional, enthusiast. u name it, they make it.

as for u're question about synthetics and polymers? the difference being is that a polymer has polymers (lol) and synthetics have everything else excluding carnuba.

the word sealant is really just a word used. it doesnt mean anything. it doesnt do anything different than carnba wax does. they just use the term for the fact that it is not techically wax, but it doesnt do any magical "seal" over u're paint. it just protects. same thing carnuba, polymers, acrylics, ect do. they all just have different qualities in shine and durabilty.

u should have showed him the way and inrotuced him to DC.

a synthetic wax is Micro-Crystaline wax. a polymer wax is Amino- fuctional silicone.another polymer is Polyethaline which is used in a lot of qd.
