swirls:produced by washing or drying?

Are swirls or light marring caused more during the washing or drying process or both?

Swirls can happen from both processes. If one uses improper materials during the wash process, it is likely that one will scratch and swirl the finish. Likewise, if improper drying materials are used, it is certainly possible to cause damage to the finish.

IMHO, assuming that we are using sheepskin mitts and MF to dry, both of the highest quality of course. Then most of the marring that occurs at the autopian level is done during the wash process when contaminants have higher chance of being grinded into the finish.

I assume you mean the light marring that something like SSR1 or even colorX would clear up a few times a year, right?

Accumulator and other extreme wash technique users need not apply. :p

Heh heh, but I'll toss in my $0.02 anyhow :D This is the whole reason why I use the extreme methods ;)

Yep. I agree. You'll only mar while drying if you're using something that isn't soft enough or you didn't get all the dirt off.
