Swirl remover questions.

Hi:



I am living in a place with limited choice of products, however I managed to find 3M Finesse-it II in my local store, I am a Zaino user and currenly trying on NXT.



For swirl removing process, do I need to follow up with a finer compound after FI-II? If yes what product should I use? (I prefer to have no filler or minimum filler so that it is also suitable for Zaino)



Also, I found 3M SMR which is supposed to be finer than FI-II but unfortunately it only for light colour car, will it be any side effect if used on black car?



In the place I live, I can fine Autoglym, Meguiar, Turtle, Soft99, Sonax.

I believe the difference btwn light and dark smr is the pigment of the filler. A quick IPA wipedown will remove the filler. You'll need to do this before z'ing anyway.



As to your original question, I use FI2 + a cutting pad and follow it up with AIO + polishing pad and then use Z over the AIO. I find AIO to be a good finer step up from FI2. If you don't want to order AIO, then go for the SMR light colours +polishing pad after FI2, do an ipa wipe down, z7 wash, and then z.
