There's only a hand full of these even on the road yet, they only came out like a month ago but I got a call to come polish one out.
The swirls in it were pretty light, but Audi's clear coat is hard as diamonds so it took some work for me to correct.
I'll go ahead and start off the pics. Some may be a little blury as my hands were shaking bad afrerwards due to the work load and the cold temps.
The interoir was in good shape, I dusted it down, then vacuumed and did a 303 10:1 wipe down.
Seats, treated and conditioned with Zaino Z10 conditioner
One of my favorites parts of this interior set up was the digital Parking Brake. It's just to the left of the stick shifter, you just push it down once to set it and pull it up once to release it. pretty cool
Now onto the paint correction.....
The swirls were difficult to photograph as it was a metallic black paint and they weren't to horrible heavy.
This is the hood, it was probably the worst swirled part of the car.
Here's me working with the rotary....:grinno:
This shot is me spreading the Menz IP over the 2x2 section getting ready to turn up the speed and break the polish down.
Now you can see the polish is worked in and broken down and become clear after about 1500-1700rpms, so I turn down the speed and really jewel up the surface.
This is what Menz IP looks like about half way broke down on the other side of the hood, it's not quite clear yet. Once it's clear you really don't see it, it just looks like very light holograms in the paint.
Now for the results......
To be honest, I basically went over the hood 3 times with the rotary, LC white pad and Menz IP. I tried out some PG but it was just too strong and left horrible holograms so I just opted to make multiple passes with the lesser polish and pad combo and finish down perfectly hologram free.
After I finished with the rotary, I took the PC to it with an orange pad and ZainoPC to get rid of any lubes left behind by the MIP.
Here's the results, a perfect finish.
Next up, some detailed work and glamour shots.....
