General Info

Yet another beautiful Saturday with mid 70 degrees. Was able to detail a friend’s VW Jetta GLI. Total time was 4.5 hours with lunch in the middle of all the work.

Vehicle
2005 VW Blue Jetta GLI. Paint seemed pretty mare, free but had the usual light swirls, dullness, contaminants, and scratches here and there. Rims were black! What a pain, but I had my new Meguiar’s brushes to help. Have no idea how to solve the tire problem. Even with the Meg brush and A2z, browning still occuring :(

Process

Exterior
Wash – Mother’s Gold
Clay – Clay Magic Blue.
Polish – SSR with Blue Edge
Sealed with Poorboy’s EX
Dressing – BnB on tires.
Wheels - Green Stuff (Local). Polished with AIO. Sealed with EXP.

Woolite various areas in the Interior.

Result
Got a $10 tip and the customer said it looked like brand new. Extremely easy car to drive, but doesn’t have the ultimate feel of a sport car. I have two more cars to do with this client. Enjoy the quick pictures!

That blue looks hot, great work on those rims :bigups

How do people let things get to that point :dunno

that picture makes me admire the jetta to another degree. i hate the way they changed it tho. i prefered that model over the new concept looking one that just came out. that color is bling!

I have the same car, the pads are complete crap. If that was done yesterday, they'll be black again by monday. Its the biggest PITA with the new GLI's. My car will be just as clean but the rims make it look gross.

Looks awesome. The GLI is a neat little car, I like the way they drive. I'd really like to take a test drive in an R32.

Woob: Nice work on a great car. I did one back in the fall and thought it was a great car overall (didn't drive, just looks and feel).

I can't believe how little marring there was, but I could see the neglect throughout. Great work on those rims. What kind of brushes/agitation did you do?

Great work on the car! I have the same brake dust problem on the rear wheels of my A4. A few coats of wheel sealant should take care of that though. Keep up the good work.

I wish I coulda did better, but customer said it was like "new" :( I EXPed those wheels after cleaning em with the Meguiar's Face Brush and some local moderate brake cleaner.

Funny thing is Bunky's (Local Wash place) didn't mare it badly, but destroyed those tires. Scary how brown they are.
