surface rust question

This is a dumb question but I had a pretty big mark by my window trim which I used touchup paint on. This is the side of the car that I had painted due to a deer collision. Anyway upon further inspection, I noticed it was a tape line that they must have misjudged. I freaked out and immediately touched it up. I remember looking at it again to make sure there was no rust and I didn't see any starting. Later my husband said he thought he seen a little surface rust. My question is if there was some there (which I really don't think there was because I remember specifically looking for it) would it make it self known by bubbling up the paint?

My car is bright yellow and I seen some paint that was a slightly different color (more of a mustard color) but this color runs along the tape line in the door as well so I didn't think anything of it. I think it might be where they didn't clear coat it but I am not sure. Thanks for your help, I just want to ease my mind that if that is what it was, that I will eventually know so I can get it fixed.

Yes, it'll eventually make itself known. With any luck it'll compromise the adhesion of the paint before it really causes significant corrosion damage to the metal itself. Keep an eye on it and get it to a pro at the first sign of trouble. And make sure (to the best of your ability) that they fix things right next time ;) I know, that's a lot easier said than done!

What about going back to the shop and asking them about it? Some places are great about taking care of things that come to light even after a little time has passed (and other shops aren't as great).
