This is what I am ordering very soon, thanks to all the advice from the members of this wonderful forum:

CostaDetailing.jpg

Here is the process I plan to use on the paint:

1. Wash w/ Poorboy's
2. Clay Bar
3. Four Start Paint Cleaner
4. Poorboy's SSR1
5. Poorboy's Polish
6. If swirls aren't gone, then move up to SSR2
7. Natty's wax or Moose Wax
8. EXP Sealent

All of this done w/the 7424 & w/ the Edge Pad system.

Does anyone see a flaw?

Thanks!

Where exactly are you going to buy your PC? Right now Lowe's has the 7336 SP (Same thing, but different counterweight) for 79.98! Very cheap I must say. Seems like a good setup. Not quite sure where you will grab your PB stuff. I recommend Poorboy Steve for his outrageously good kit specials

Jstuckey,
this looks like you are ordering for a start up business.
I am not to sure how much work you have lined up, so it may make sense for you to buy smaller qty's now. (bulk is cheaper)
But remember shipping cost and transit times when you order on line.
And remember Dwanye gives free shipping over $125.00 plus the DC discount (Not to take anything away from Steve)

I'm just a weekend warrior and I go trough a decent # of towels And just from the cost it doesn't seem like your buying many (many towels are good, unless you like doing laundry often)

Just my $.02

And you apply the sealant prior to your wax so swap steps 7 & 8

Good luck and happy holidays

Actully i'm getting seven total microfiber towels... It's a package deal from Steve.

Here is what $31.00 gets you:

(3) 16" Super Thick and Plush
(3) 16" Mega Plush
1 Mega Plush Mitt
1 24x26 waffle weave

To help you get the cheapest possible.

Buy the 7336 from Lowes for 80 bucks.

Poorboys is having a "kit" sale right now. You put together a kit and get 20% off the total and I believe if you go over 100 or something you get free shipping.

Also why are you getting Clearkote wax and Nattys? Do you just want to have a little variety?

1.I would get PB NL for the dash /door etc.
2.4* Paint cleanser is unnecessary as you got PB pro polish already, this is an underrated product and it's very competent in ensuring a clean surface.
3.Save yourself some money by getting PC from Lowes as Josh suggested.
4.You may like to have a couple more Mfs, just for variety sake 'I' would try some from PAC.
5.Your process needs a bit of tweak, I'll let others chime in on that one.

happy holiday and detailing,

Chee

the 4* paint cleaner, ssr1, and pp are basically all the same (very small differences) id save the money and time... just use ssr1, and if that doesnt work go to ssr2.

Looking good, but a few more suggestions.

As for the pads, I would suggest you get at the
very min., a blue, and a white pad. You can
use the ssr2 with the blue pad, followed by the ssr1
with the blue pad. The white pad does a great job with
sealants, liquid waxes, and ssr1, but I would ony
run ssr1 and white pad on solid dark colors where you really
want to get maximum polishing. The white pad
has no cut at all, so the ssr1 would be doing all the work.
If the swirls are little more heavy, you can go with a green
pad plus ssr2 for some extra bite.

You have EX-P, Natty's and CMW. I would suggest
you either use Natty's or CMW as the topper, as
I don't think you really need the two. They offer
imo distinctive looks. If I go with the EX-P/ Natty's
then I get a very clear, wet look with some very
good reflection. If I go with the EX-P/ CMW, I tend to
get a deep wet look, but I sacrifice some sharper
reflection. CMW does hide some imperfections, and
tends to last longer, imo. Natty's on the other hand
seems to hide imperfection more, but i don't find
it last as long. Another simple option would be
to forgoe EX-P and Natty's and just do CMW.

No matter how you play it out, I doubt you'll be
disappointed with the look.

Good luck, and be sure to post up some pics of
your work.

A couple of points:
- I think you should get more than 1 Waffle Weave Drying Towel. While you could probably dry your car with one, it's always nice to have an extra just in case you drop it, or to do that final go over to get the last few streaks of water. I think Steve had a special on his MF Waffle Weaves where if you bought two, he'd throw in a third for free. :dunno

- Also, I think the EX-P sealant should be applied BEFORE Wax for optimal adhesion & sealing. And I would suggest two coats of EX-P with 24 hour cure time in between them.

- And I too think that you're duplicating effort with the 4* Paint Cleaner & the PB ProPolish.

- What are you going to use for your glass?

- What are you going to use for clay lube? I think Steve includes a bottle of S & W with his claybar - it's great for in-between washings too!:)

Now hurry up and get your order placed so you can get in on some or the great deals our sponsors are offering right now:jump

Why do you want to use 4* paint cleaner, SSR1, and PB Polish? -Pick one, there's really no need for all 3.

As stated above, you want to apply the EXP sealer before you top it with wax
