So I took a nice 2hr ride out to Brooklyn this morning around 7am for a member here at Autopia (havabooz). We have been trying to set up a day that both fit for us. I have seen pictures, but this thing stunned me in person. He was a long time Zaino user, but was ready for an introduction to some new products. I found EX-P to REALLY bring out the flake and be dripppppy wet over the PO106 polish. I think he felt the same way



A heavily modded, but tasteful, Nissan 350z. Car was in exceptional condition, but definately needed some TLC. Light buffer swirling on hood and roof from a re-paint/buff, light marring/micro-marring on the rest. Rims needed some TLC as well. My final processes were:



-Mother's Gold Wash

-Was clayed by him recently-

-Menzerna PO106 (Ceramiclear Line) via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500rpm

-EX-P by hand



-VM on rims and emblems

-Old No.7 Chrome Polish on exhaust

-PO106 to polishing lighting

-Bold 'N Bright on tires and plastic trim

Next for the day was his friend.



A 2000 Jaguar XKR in RED. Gorgeous machine IMO. My favorite model, trim, and color of this car, but what a mess! He had it "detailed" by accident (they did it without asking him) this week in 40 mins :shocked . The extent I saw was buffing the hood, fenders, and mirrors with a wool pad and compound. They left and absolute mess for me which I got most of it out. I didn't want to cut extremely hard on this expensive finish since it only had 11,xxx miles on it and I didn't want to pay for a new one if I went through (no paint gauge yet). However, the swirls were VERY deep. My final processes were:



-Mother's Gold Wash

-Wolfgang Clay

-SSR 2.5 and LC Cutting Pad via Rotary @ 1500rpm

-Menzerna PO106 and LC Polishing Pad via Rotary @ 1500rpm

-EX by hand



-Bold 'N Bright on tires and wells

-VM on lighting and emblems

-Old No.7 Chrome Polish on Exhaust

lucky you... bet u had fun doing those cars... so which one do u think u liked better? the modded z, or the stock xkr? hard choice... those supercharged jags are sick tho. those cars look incredible... good job like always...
 
Great work! You've definately shown your work to be some of the primo on the board IMHO.



I feel the Jag owner's pain. After a great string of getting it right the Lexus dealer went and washed my car last week when it was in for service. Nowhere near that bad but there's a lot of little scratches everywhere (but no swirls oddly enough) that I was real unhappy with. They're going to credit me back $200 for my trouble in restoring the finish.



That 350Z looks great, well done.

my friend and i really wanna thank sean for making the trip out to do our cars...the work exceeded my expectations and they really blew my friend away...pesky scratches=GONE



i also like the weather forecast for the week so i can enjoy the shine and feel :)



sean's a really friendly guy plus hes into car modding so its always a pleasure to deal with someone who understands

the xkr is really something to drive...but the z is a bit more fun



maybe cause mines loud :)...the xkr is very luxurious and i like the tighter suspension of the Z



but i would take the xkr over my car if my friend offered to trade

they better credit you back!!! what did you say to the dealership tho? just curious, cause i have a feeling this might happen to me in the future...



havabooz: i know what your sayin about the weather... lookin good this week.. but damn today was cold.. lol. (i live in longisland as well... about 5 minutes from sean) nice week to keep the car lookin good right? this winter is gonna be FREEZING!! let me tell ya.. better stock up on those small heat making pouch thingys :nixweiss

One minor question...did you consider Souveran for the Jaguar? I really like the wetness of this wax on black and red vehicles. The EX-P looks great in any event.

Navindra: Although that Jag was my absolute favorite XK model, I'm still an Import Tuner Guy...So my vote is for the 350 :)



GoodnClean: I hear ya. I get :angry when people walk too close to my car, let alone touch it!



SilverLexus: I actually do not own Souveran. If any carnauba, it would be Natty's or S100. However, the owner was a bit worried about protection in the long run. I chose a sealant that I knew would last and look GREAT.



montoya: It's a great product :D . It really shows up great on almost any color.

Lexus of Silver Spring. They handled it very well though, no arguments, no asking if they can fix it themselves, no accusing that the marks were there beforehand, no trying to squirm out of it.

Well it helped that the car was filthy to begin with, we were being hurricaned when I dropped it off. Usually I make sure the car is as spotless as possible before I dropped it off, something my dad taught me they always treat your car better if it looks like you keep it in tip top shape. That wasn't possible this time though. The guy's mistake was that he sent it down to be vacuumed only. Well, once it gets there its probably hard to make hor-hey understand that he's not supposed to wash it. The wash job was really terrible too, big spaces left dirty, no cleaning of the wheels. I think thats what saved me more damage, it looks like they just wash them down and rinse them with deionized water, no drying.



I pointed out the several small marks on the side, hood, rear C pillar and he had no problem crediting me back the cost of having the finish restored.
