Being in a wheelchair I'd like your thoughts on rasing the car to a comfortable level for me to polish my wheels.. I was thinking either portable ramp and or Jack (on wheels) ,the jack maybe too heavy and a pain to move around 4 me.. anyone use any products other than regualr car jack for removing wheels? I don't want to remove them just raise the car.

Thanks,

Joe

I admit, I can only imagine what kind of a challenge it would be to transfer in and out of your chair if you had the car on ramps. I don't have any brilliant, cheap answers. Here's the ultimate solution if you have a garage. They run about $1900 delivered, I know one guy who had one fully installed for about $2200.

As for something most would consider affordable, I'm curious to see what anyone else can recommend.

..Just found this site.. Ya think it would be safe on a BMW Station Wagon? I'll write to them..seems a fair price...

Yeah, that's a good site, thanks for posting it!

If you figure the overall weight of your wagon (cool vehicle BTW :xyxthumbs ) I'm pretty sure that the front half of it won't come to more than the 3000 lbs they rate the one ("sedan") set of ramps. The rear oughta weigh even less as there's no engine to consider. But I do wonder if the approach angle is gonna permit you to back the wagon up onto them to do the rear wheels :nixweiss

I'm pretty sure that if you ask them about the capacity they'll err on the side of caution ;)
