Suggestions for GM Chrome Wheel Cleaner

I inherited the wife's 2008 Buick Enclave. It's got the GM OEM chrome wheels on it. I see after this winter in NW PA, they appear to have some small raised pimples on them and they're pretty dull looking. Prior to the winter, I did polish them up with some Meguirs Billet Aluminum Polish but maybe that wasn't the right choice. Could anyone suggest a cleaner that might remove the pimples and polish the chrome up? Is there anything I can put on them after cleaning the pimples off them to prevent that from happening next year? I don't mind putting multiple coats on if necessary to keep them looking nice.

Thanks in advance.

Hey man- I had a similar problem on our Pontiac GP with the GM "chrome" wheels. I removed each one and ended up thoroughly cleaning them with P21s, claying the wheels to remove any of the embedded contaminants, polishing with NXT all metal polish and sealing with Colli 476. THis whole regimen took a while and wasn't remotely aggressive, but I was happy with the results.

I'd shy away from any of the acidic/caustic cleaners because the majority of GM chrome wheels are simply plated and once they pit/corrode- it's all downhill from there.
