I don't like the greasy ky jelly look. I prefer a deep satin black that won't fling up on my yellow paint. Any suggestions?

Thanks a ton!

This isn't the best tire picture. The light was fading and I was more interested in the reflection of the drive. I also don't remember if I had dressed the tires yet, but I believe I had.

I will try to take a better one for ya this weekend.

  • 303 Aerospace Protectant or Eagle One Concours/Protectant for a matte finish
  • Zaino Z16 for a low-gloss finish
  • Vinylex for a medium-gloss finish

Any PDMS dressing, including the 4 mentioned, can be diluted with water for a lower shine.

My faves in order of preference:

1) Pinnacle Vinyl & Rubber Protectant

2) Eagle One Concours Satin Finish Tire Shine

3) Vinylex

4) 303 (too matte for my tastes)

Hello CRUZMISL,

If you can find it, I like and would recommend Eagle One's Conquors Satin Tire Dressing. It comes in a black spray bottle. It is water based but does leave a nice satin shine on the tires. Easy to remove and maintain that "new" tire look.

Alternative would be 303 or Vinylex.

303 not only makes the tires look new but also is good for the tire (UV protection). It is not greasy of give the tires a fake shiny appearance. If you have ever seen a brand new racing tire with its silicone coat ( needed to remove from mold ) the shine is the same. 303 does not fling off or become gummy. Great stuff and a little on a applicator goes a long way.

I like 303 or Eagle One Concours. I reallly prefer the matte finish and not that greasy high shine crap. Eagle One Concours is a good product that is pretty cheap but the problem is they don't make it anymore so it will be very difficult to find.

bad case of oily dressing splatter... hehe

Meguiar's #40 if you want to use a liguid, but I'ld also give the regular Meguiar's Endurance (not the High Gloss variety). It gives a good low to medium gloss finish, and and if you wipe the tires down after eltting it sit for 15 minutes, you won't have any residue to fling onto your paint. Lasts about 2 weeks, give or take a couple of days.

For wet climates, I find the Mequires Endurance Tire Gel works very well. Not too shiney, and lasts about a month.

I was reading the catalog that CMA sent me and saw the Forever Black Tire kit. This might be a good option if you're looking for something that will last. The description says it'll last for months through snow and rain. I haven't personally tried it though. I'm thinking I should have bought that instead of the Eimann Black Opal.

Has anyone used the Forever Black gel before? If so, how's it look?

I've used the Forever Black. It is a different kind of product. it actually contains black colorant and it does keep your tires black for at least a month or two. What is doesn't do is add shine.
