Suggestion for faded center lock wheel hubs?

Porsche 911 Turbo, center lock wheel hubs are faded and chalky. Some have suggested chemical wheel cleaners caused this, but I`ve seen it to some degree on almost every Porsche center lock wheel I`ve seen.

Any suggestions for a product that might give it a bit of gloss back? Too small and awkward to get a polisher, something that can be applied/removed with a microfiber....

One of the few persons within this forum who has extensive experience with Porsche center locking wheel hubs/nuts is Sizzle Chest.
He may be able to help you out and have a few suggestions. If he does not respond to this thread, try using a Personal Message to get his attention.

I assume that the hub locking nut material is some type of high-strength steel or aluminum that has a black oxide coating on it to give it its black appearance.
I also assume that you may be doing this hub nut "correction" yourself with the nut on the wheel and not removed.

As a Porsche Turbo owner with this center locking hub wheel feature, do you know if that nut must be replaced if it removed with Porsche`s special tools, IE; it is NOT a re-usable nut?? Seems to me I asked Sizzle Chest this question because he removes such wheels when he details almost all the Porsches he does, and if they are replaced they are NOT cheap. (Ahh, the joys and expense of being a Porsche owner)

Was it shiny when new? The few I`ve seen are more of a satin finish, but not oxidized like the one in the picture. I wonder if they are powder coated.

Most of them I see are like that as well. I use some APC to clean them with a brush, then I will coat them with a wheel coating. It will bring back some of the `color`.
