Subaru BRZ Opti Coat 2.0 - TLC Auto Detail

Hi everyone. Today i had a brand new Subaru BRZ to work on that is owned by AG member Kohlii. This vehicle was scheduled for a new car prep detail and Opti Coat 2.0 application. Due to weather that was suppose to come in this afternoon, I didn't take any time to take before pictures just in case it ended up taking me longer than I expected.

In all honesty it was actually fairly clean, except for some bug guts on the from bumper and some brake dust on the wheels. I'm going to just run through what I did really quick and then let you see the final outcome.

First I cleaned the wheels with Autoglym CWC, and cleaned the tires and wheel wells with Optimum Power Clean at 3:1. The wheels were coated with OC, the tires dressed with Hyper Dressing, and the wells dressed with Sonus Trim and Tire Kote.

The exterior was foamed, and then washed with Hyper Wash and a Griots MF Wash Pad. Next I applied Wolfs Decon gel followed by a light claying with Riccardo Yellow clay to remove the slight bonded contaminants from the paint. There was very little marring so we decided not to do any correction. When I say very little i mean that it was 90%+ free of swirls and marring. Here is how it looked in the sun.

Next the paint was wiped down with Eraser and then the OC 2.0 was applied. Finally the glass was cleaned with Meguiars Glass Cleaner, the exhaust tips were polished with Collinite metal polish, and the trim was also coated with OC. Here is how it all turned out.

That about does it. I enjoyed working on this car a lot. I have never seen one up close and thought it had a very unique, yet pleasing look. I also love the color on it. It has tons of pearl that just looks amazing in the sun, but then turns almost black in the shade and gives some amazing reflections. I would say that Subaru did a great job with this vehicle!

Thanks for looking, and I look forward to your feedback!

Great Job! You made that thing blinding! Yeah they are neat cars I wrapped the roof on one and did a new car prep for the scion version. Coolest part it was a dealers car so they let me drive it. Power was kinda disapointing but I can see where it would be all kinds of fun. Cant wait to see when they put out a turbo one!

Ive got to agree on the finish work, I've had my hands on a few of these and each came with phenominal paint from the factory. Really excellent job on the behalf of Subaru/Toyota as well as their dealers for not messing it up!

nice work. i like these little cars. i see a red scion one driving around my place a few times. looks boring in red but sick in this color. you know eventually there will be some kind of turbo upgrade for this sweet lil ride.

I believe TRD has a supercharger kit in the works, and Subaru has already test fit a 1.6L DI turbo motor as a prototype STi variant. I would jump all over either option in a heartbeat if they did!

Thanks man! They certainly are cool looking. I was also impressed with how little orange peel there was in the paint!
beautiful finish, like glass. the car really has some nice lines to it.
Thanks Steve! I agree, it flows very well.
Man that shine is unreal, good job!
Thank you!
Nice work Dave!

Bet it was nice to not have to do a ton of polishing and extra work.
Thanks Troy! considering it was 100 degrees and humid I was glad this wasn't a big car that needed a lot of work!
Fantastic as always Dave !!!!
Thank you Pat!

Yup, I was shocked in how great shape it was. And again, I was amazed with how little orange peel it had...made the reflections really pop!
