Stupid Question......

How do you clean these wool pads??

With the foam pads I just soak them and then scrub them out and they're good again, but with the wool it doesn't seem to have the same effect.

So what's the trick to cleaning wool pads??

TIA

Josh

I just fill a 5 gallon bucket half way of warm water with Woolite, let them soak facing down for about 15 or so minutes, then rub hand on and all around in a massaging way to loosen the wax/compound, rinse and do it again in another bucket of warm water and Woolite then final rinse. Sling or shake out the excess water then put it on the buffer to get out more water.

Yea that was a stupid question - :LOLOL

I soak them in clear water tp soften the compound then pressure wash them clean. I then spin dry them on a buffer while blowing the pad off with compressed air.

This is perfect!

I'll be starting a pontoon boat this evening, so I was wondering how I would clean my brand new 4-ply twisted wool pads...Especially since I'll be using polishing aluminum, and you know how messy that can be.

Could you use Dawn Power Dissolver on wool pads?
