Stupid Klass SG Question

I have read over and over that you need to wait 24 hours between coats (and many say up to a week) of SG. Is it fine to wash the car then apply a new layer, or do you have to do more prep work than that? Also at what point to you top the SG with a carnuba wax to provide additional protection?

I worry that if I wait a week between layers I will add some swirls in the paint just applying another layer of SG over a washed car.

Help me out here, what do you guys do who use the car as a daily driver?

Thanks

yeah was and dry between coats...or its ideal if you can garage the clean car and do a few coats over the weekend

try and go for 3-4 coats minimum before carnuba

I have been using the Twins for 4 years. After the initial AIO and SG I just wait until the next time I wash the car (usually anywhere from 1-4 days) and then just apply another layer of SG. If the car and your applicator are clean you will not create any swirls from this process. Remember that you are not applying any pressure to apply the SG and most important of all ...... you can't put SG on too thin.

I would not hurry to apply any wax until you are confident that you don't want any more layers of SG. I would wait at least a week or two even if you have SG X 3 just to make sure you really want to top the SG because you can easily add more SG if you don't top it but once you do there is no going back without starting over.

Just wondering, what would make you suddenly say, "I wish I hadn't put on wax because I want to put on another layer of SG" after a week or two? Also, how many layers of SG before it's unnecessary/detrimental?

I've quit topping SG all together and now I just clay gently (Sonus green) and add more SG when I feel it's called for. I've never gone for more than 6 layers of SG, but that sure did last for a long, long time.

The problem I have with topping is that over a long period of time the wax seems to degrade, and claying/repplying wax doesn't come as close to "freshly detailed" for me as claying/adding more SG does. But if you're gonna redo things (polish and/or AIO) after a few months anyhow then it's kinda a moot point and you might find topping worth it for the better looks. Dunno if that made sense :o I'm posting kinda fast as I only have a few minutes...
