Stupid Cardinal

For some reason my area has been flooded with Cardinals, all you see are these bright red birds flying all over the place. Well one of them (I hope it's just one) has taken a liking to sitting on my and my wife's car's window ledges and attacking itself in the sideview mirrors. Not only is this leaving nasty scratches on the mirrors, the stupid bird decides he has to poo down the side of the doors when he can't win the 'fight.'

Now I'm waiting for the shade to reach my car so I can give it a bath, just so feather head can do it again tomorrow. Looks like I'll have to make sure and keep a good layer of KSG on the doors. :wall

There is a male cardinal that does the very same thing at work. It starts attacking cars as soon a we arrive to work. One co-worker added a owl but has not totally scared it away. It has been on my car and truck and see some slight damage to mirrors. It has also been tapping at the windows of the building.

There is a stream and small pond behind my office building. Ducks and geese bombard the cars in parking area on approach and take off.

I park underground.

Sometimes the panic button will startle a bird enough to discourage them from sitting on your car. Try it. It may take a few attempts.

I guess I'm lucky then, I would rather have a small bit of poo on my door or mirror than get nuked by a bunch of ducks and geese. :yikes:

Ive been having the exact same problem the past month or so.

I used my "mystery" bottle (seems to be a polish)on my mirrors and that kept the birds away for a few days. They didnt like the smell Im guessing.

Im still trying to find a better solution .I will let you know if I find something that works.

Not going to bag my mirrors!

I'm tempted to sit outside in a lawn chair and blast the thing with the garden hose when it lands...it might mean a few water spots, but SG seems to prevent them AND no one can say I'm trying to hurt the bird :D

I would never kill a bird for pecking at my mirror. Garden hose may be effective and safe!

I read today to get a fake snake and put it on the dash.Birds are afraid of snakes apparently. Im going to try that! Fun to see how many people get faked out too!:D

I will be checking for updates!

The cardinal here at work has been leaving my car alone as of late but was looking to just put something just on the mirror itself (like a paper) so there is no bag hanging on the mirror. It obviously needs to be something I can remove quickly and does not look stupid.

A co-worker strapped a fake owl to a tree and did seem to help somewhat.
