Stubborn excrement

I recently brought my truck to a professional detailer because I was unable to remove some strange substance from my truck. I thought it was hardend tree sap.To my surprise, I was informed that it was identified as spider excrement. Has anyone heard of this? I was told the only way to remove it is to buff it out using compound.

You've never noticed the little spots under spider webs, say in the corner of a window frame, or basement corner, etc.? I've never had any on my car, but I know they are tough to remove from (house) painted surfaces.

However, depending on the condition of your paint and if it had any "wax" on it, I would imagine clay might remove it. It is possible that it has etched or stained the finish, in which case polishing would be indicated.

It's spider waste is the other term, yes they hard to get off so maybe some red clay or compounding/polishing will work.

It may be spores from artillery fungus. It's really hard to remove and usually comes from parking next to mulched landscaped areas.

Ok, thanks. I did try the clay but it did not work. My next step it to use compound; however, I have never tried that before and I don't to make make matters worse.
