Stripping Wax/Sealants - A couple of ideas

A couple ideas popped into mind recently on how to strip wax and sealants off the surface. I don't recall these ideas being kicked around here at DC so I thought I'd throw them out for feedback...

Iso/H2O mixture spray - Regular wash, then spray down with a strong Iso mixture and immediately rewash the car. I did this this past weekend on one of my cars and it seemed to work well.

Micro Restore spray - Since micro restore detergent is supposed to breakup wax, sealant, polish residues in MF's, why not spray on the car surface and wash off?

Just some thoughts...

Good ideas.
What is ISO?

This is my process:
1. Acid Dip
2. APC diluted wash
3. Sunlight Soap
4. Dupont Klene-Sol x 4
5. Prime Wipe

I think you could save time just using a chemical polish. Remove the old wax and polish up the finish in one shot. I could be wrong. I myself usually do it that way. I don't work the polish to much. I'm just looking to remove the old stuff.

When talking to an FK1 Rep a while I ago, I mentioned the whole dawn wash and how I felt it was too harsh for plastics and rubebr. He mentioned what most of us here say and that is "keep dawn in the kitchen". He then brought up a product made for that same purpose but much much safer for the paint.

FK1 #1119 Soil & Coating Remover.

I've used it when I got a sample and again when it came with their Deco Kit.

It is not acidic, or harsh on cuts or skin like most acids are, but Still requires the use of gloves.

After a wash, I mix the concentration with water in a bucket, and begin wiping wipe a dipped mf. Then a good rinse followed by some foam from my foam gun compeltely eliminates everything, including strong sealants like SG.

ISO is the acronym for isopropyl alcohol.....generally 70%...ie..rubbing alcohol

I guess it's a ISOpropyl alcohol aka rubbing alcohol.

Yep, I mean Iso= rubbing alcohol.

I've always done a 2 step process when wanting to strip the old stuff off. Typically it involved an alcohol wipe, then a polish of some sort. This way, I felt more comfortable that all, or at least the vast majority, of the old wax/sealants were removed and the surface was ready for the new stuff.

To me, using a alcohol wipe down there is a chance that some of the old wax and sealant is not completely removed, rather just gets smeared around. Now, assuming that the old wax and sealants are immediately compromised when in contact with alcohol, spraying a strong alcohol mixture then washing it off saves time, plus helps to assure that there is no residue left behind.

Along these same lines, it is hard for me to completely understand how a wowo polish can effectively remove from the surface all (or majority) of the layers of the old waxes and sealants.
