Stripping clear coat from alloys

I've got some alloy wheels that have a clear coating on the outer rim. the spokes are bronze.

The clearcoat is lifting and scratched/mared and needs to be stripped.

After I do this, is it sufficient to keep them sealed with a good tire rim sealer/protector or will they tarnish ?

If they are aluminum, they will oxidize without a cc to protect them, so, yes, you will have to polish them regularly if you want them to be shiny.

yeah you pretty much have to keep then protected alllll the time. I think its worthit though. The look of polished rims is amazing :D
