Street Dreams Detail - 40hr. Hack Restoration Correction: BMW 135

Great work on the 135 David. Very cool car, and stunning work!

What exactly is your point with this post?

^ Its a small car so 39hrs. is a ludicrous amount of time to spend, duh Todd

Dave,

Once again you blow my doors off!!!!

That thing was really hacked (a massive understatement). It looks like the original owner washed it with brillo.:scared:

I can only imagine how happy the owner was when he picked it up.

You continue to impress. Great job restoring that bimmer.:Dancing Dot::rockon::notworthy:

Thank you Barry:Dancing Dot:

Dave, I was just wondering if you could please help shed some light on the black wool pads? How do the black wool pads compare to other wool pads? Do they mar less? Do they keep the paint temperature down?

I've seen them discussed on other boards, but without much detail as to why they're so highly regarded.

I prefer the tufbuf black wool pads to the LC purple foamed wool. The black cut very well and finish surprisingly well, plus they clean easily. Tried some and liked them, all there is to it.

nice job Dave.
how much a detail like that cost , a min 30$/h , 1200$ ?

My per hr. rate is a bit more than that. I originally quoted for 30hrs and ended up at 39 as I got a bit carried away during correction. I charge only for the hours I quote unless I run into an unexpected problem like a repaint or something where the whole pricing structure needs to be changed because the estimated time is completely off.
