Thank you - all who sent me such nice PM`s and voicemail.. Your thoughts and prayers were very helpful and I am so grateful for all of you here.
My dear Angel-Mother passed away on December 14, 2016, and we laid her to rest next to her Sweetheart, our Father, on December 23rd, 2016.
Needless to say, that particular Christmas, we were all too numb to do anything..
Then, the next hard part - try to carefully, with very wet eyes all the time, take inventory of all the things she had saved away with her little hands for decades, and decide what to do with them..
And you KNOW, that Mothers save EVERYTHING..
The hardest things to do now are to remember that I can no longer call her and ask her how her day is going, and try to be ok that I have no Parents here on earth to be with now..
I loved every minute I had to spend with her, providing her 24x7 care, sleeping right next to her hospital bed, listening to her breathing and worrying if her breathing changed, etc..
We had great long talks about everything !
She started remembering things that we had either never heard or forgot, because they were memories of us when we were babies, etc., and she remembered things she did as a young girl too, that we had never heard before..
One thing I had not heard before was when she was 10-years old, and accomplished on the piano and organ (because her Parents were highly skilled musicians), her Father, my Grandfather, would take her and tow this little organ on a trailer, and after Church, go out the the orchards in Southern California and find the workers in their little houses on the properties, and she would pump the Organ 2 pedals up and down, play the keyboard and she and her Dad would sing Hymns for these farm workers, and they would have a little Church service for them out there, every Sunday.. How many people do you know that have ever even thought about doing that ?? Yeah, I cannot think of any, either..
We did the math and figured out she served in the Spanish Speaking Methodist Church for 74 years, and during all those years, she never asked for anything but to serve others and love all she came in contact with..
There were many young girls and even older girls that "adopted" our Mother as their "other" Mother, and kept up with her over decades, and all made it to her Funeral..
My Angel-Mother, Estella Maria Gomez Franco...
Mother Dear, the Love Bond between us - all of us - is eternal and will never be broken... I miss you so much..
Then the remodeling of the old house to make it nice and with much sadness, put it up for sale, and marvel at how quickly it sold..
Before I knew it, almost half a year went by, and it was time to make that 2,000 mile drive back to Northern California.
The really nice 2007 Acura TL-Type-S I bought right before I left, ran beautifully and averaged around 29 mpg the entire trip, at around 78mph..
It 93k on it when I purchased it so add 4k to it now..
The 6 speed is perfect with very nice close ratios up to 5, and 6th gear, it just cruises nicely..
Love the 4 pipes in back all nicely tucked in the factory body kit..
It has taken a long time to get my newly moved into house back in some order after being gone so long, but it`s Fall now, and I can no longer work in the yard very much, and have to now work in the garage more and accomplish more inside house items..
It feels like I have been gone for years - I hope I can get up to speed with all the new technology you great bunch of guys and gals are into now..
I didn`t get to wish you all a very merry christmas and happy new year last, and I apologize for that..
Am hoping to get up to speed again, and once more, thank you ALL for all that YOU do for us !!
